Parallels

If you are using on OS X and want the smoothest looking interface possible, you may want to consider installing WindowBlinds in your Windows installation. As you can see in the image above, using a WindowBlinds skin on Windows, you can make the applications look almost exactly like standard OS X apps. That means that when you enable coherence mode, you are going to feel like all of your running applications are a native part of OS X. Not bad at all. Hit the link for a higher resolution image.

In the latest episode of The ScobleShow, we got our first look at DAVE from Seagate. DAVE stands for “digital audio-video experience” and is a tiny 10 or 20 GB hard drive. Tiny as in 3.5 x 4.7 x .47-inches. The best part, though, is that this thing gives you the ability to share content by way of the built-in Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. So you can browse the devices with a cell phone, transfer content to other Bluetooth devices or DAVEs, and it has 10 hours of battery life. Expect it to retail for about $200 USD in May or June. For the full scoop, check the video above.

Military Ray GunWant to stop those harmful terrorists in their tracks? Meet the military’s new “active denial system,” a non-lethal ray gun that shoots out a beam that makes them feel as if they are going to catch on fire. Demonstrated yesterday for the media, this dish antenna mounted on a Humvee was aimed and fired at brave volunteers. Thank goodness the new tactical gadget is not slated to come out until 2010. Hopefully by then we will have come to our senses and our troops will be home.

Lounge72 Calendar

Lounge72 is offering a free downloadable PDF calendar that you can use for wallpaper or take to your nearest Kinko’s and print up for your wall. Founded in Stuttgart, Germany in 2002, this not-for-profit design site, portal community, and e-zine wanted to expose those of us who acquire free beefcake calendars from auto parts stores to be exposed to up and coming artists globally. They are also hoping to find supporters to enable them to make a print version of the calendar. We have already acquired January’s page to brighten up our drab workspace.
