Landspeeder

Daniel Deutsch, a designer with the ultimate in talent, built a fiberglass and aluminum replica of the Star Wars Landspeeder in his garage. With an electric drive system, it can hit a top speed of 25 mph, and can go for a few miles with one charge. Even at that slow of a pace, we bet Mark Hamill would still take it around the block. It joins Deutsch’s collection of other clever stuff, such as the R2-D2 shown (Joey Fatone not included.)

Squeezebox Boom

Logitech has launched their Squeezebox Boom. The all-in-one network music player handles digital sound with an integrated 30W amp, high-performance speakers, and simple set up. Plug it in with no other wires, then use your existing home network, Internet radio, or subscription service. After selecting a password, the Boom will remember it. Expandable to other rooms with additional Squeezeboxes, it also has a 3.5mm headphone jack for privacy. Look for it beginning this September with a $299.99 price tag.

Sony nav-u PNDs

Sony is releasing 4 nav-u PNDs. The NV-U94T is top of the line with a photo viewer that, when a Memory Stick is put into its slot, can display images. With stereo Bluetooth and audio/video player, it lists for $399.99. The mid-sized NV-U84T with a 4.8-inch screen and NV-U74T (4.3-in frame) carry a price of $349.99 each. The compact NV-U44T has a 3.5-inch frame and is a more affordable $249.99. All 4 satellite signal receiving GPS devices feature gesture command with one touch and Position Plus hardware to help prevent false positions.

It also features an ExpressCard slot, plugs into your USB 2.0 port, and has a VGA output. The Draganflyer X6 is a deluxe adventure into spydom. Remotely operated, the mini-helicopter has 11 sensors and thousands of lines of code to self-stabilize while flying. It features a 6 rotor co-axial design with 3 counter rotating pairs at the ends of the arms and matched sets of counter-rotating rotor blades. The X6 has brushless motors and its blades are the only moving parts, so no gears will wear out. The company claims it can fly indoors easily as well as in winds of up to 18 mph. The Pega Shark Light Gun for Wii is 8.9 x 2.99 x 1.69-inches and weighs a mere 8.57 oz. Its trigger takes the place of the B key, while the functions of the others remain the same. People with crows feet, get excited. Casio will soon be releasing its two new Exilim Zoom EX-Z300 and Z250 Cameras with a “makeup function” with Exilim Engine 3.0. It optimizes focus and exposure up to 12 levels, makes skin look smoother, and less blotchy or dull. It also softens shadows on the face with image processing tech and can smooth out wrinkles.

The EX-Z300 has a 1/2.3inch CCD image sensor, a 4x optical zoom, a pixel count of 10.1Mp, and should be available tomorrow. The Z250 has a count of 9.1Mp, a 1/2.5-inch CCD image sensor, a 4x optical zoom, and should launch within the next few weeks, depending on the chassis color.
