What a way to spend an anniversary.

Earlier this week, former American Idol champ Jordin Sparks spent time tweeting from, of all places, her hospital bed.

“Was struck w/ acute appendicitis…took out that appendix last night. Recovering today & the next week or so,” the 19-year-old wrote yesterday on her Twitter account.

That post came just over 24 hours after Sparks complained about feeling sick. “Isnt feeling well at all. Goodnight,” she said early Wednesday.

Despite the pain Jordin is still going through at this time, she was able to leave the hospital today on a good note. “Released from the hospital on the 2 year anniversary of my first album! Im still hurting but it’s gonna be a good day.”

She later added: “I knew it was gonna be a good day! I just found out I’m NUMBER ONE on the Billboard Dance Chart!! Thank you guys so much! Eeeeeeee!”
