The Hangover’s Ed Helms Removes Real Tooth for Movie

Ed Helms may have had to fake looking hungover during his latest film, but there was one acting trick that was authentic: The missing tooth.
In the trailers for The Hangover, the comedian can be seen with a large gap in his grin. That visual is not a result of any advanced prosthetic or computer trickery. His tooth is gone—because he had it pulled out.

Getting Into Character: Sam Worthington in Clash of the Titans
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Warner Bros, Action, Adventure, Period, Remakes, Upcoming Releases,

Hugh Jackman may be the Aussie getting most of the attention right now, but here’s a name you should remember: Sam Worthington.
Last month, the actor got his big break starring opposite Christian Bale in Terminator Salvation. It was a role James Cameron, Worthington’s director on this December’s Avatar, suggested him for. Now Sam’s testing his fighting skills in a different forum.
The picture above is from Clash of the Titans, a remake of the 1981 film. In it, Worthington plays Perseus, the son of Zeus (Liam Neeson). The “epic action adventure” follows Perseus’ journey to battle Hades (Ralph Fiennes), the god of the underworld.
Titans, which is being directed by The Incredible Hulk‘s Louis Leterrier, also stars Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace), Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale), Jason Flemyng (Benjamin Button) and Alexa Davalos (Defiance).

Box Office Breakdown: Disney/Pixar Flying High with Up
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: 20th Century Fox, Disney, Paramount, Sony, Universal, Warner Bros, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Animation, Drama, Family, Horror, Romance, Science Fiction, Sequels, Comedy, Thrillers, Box Office, Lists,

The word “Pixar” always seems to generate smiles, and that’s exactly what Up did for Disney.
Over the weekend, the Cannes Film Festival opener generated $68.1 million, over $40 million more than its nearest competitor. The movie - which was also offered in 3D - also bested last year’s Wall-E (by $5 million) and had Pixar’s 3rd-best debut. (The Incredibles opened to $70.5 million in 2004; Finding Nemo grossed $70.3 million in 2003.)
Friday’s other new wide release, Drag Me to Hell, scared up only $15.8 million for a 4th place finish. Although it originally looked as if the horror film would surpass Terminator Salvation, the final numbers were $8 million below Sunday’s projections.
Another noteworthy mention: Star Trek officially crossed the $200 million mark after only four weeks in release. The Paramount feature is now the first movie of the year to reach that achievement.

Winona Ryder Confirms Heathers Sequel
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Sequels, Rumors, Upcoming Releases,

As a fellow Veronica, I couldn’t think of anything more exciting.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Heathers, the 1988 cult classic, was being adapted for the stage. Now it’s looking as if a sequel will be produced as well.
In an interview with Empire, Winona Ryder confirmed that there is a plan to bring Veronica Sawyer and Jason “JD” Dean back to the big screen. “Whatever you hear, there is a sequel in the works. I swear to God,” she revealed to the magazine. “But for some reason the writer Dan Waters and director Michael Lehman don’t want to talk about it. I’ve been wanting to do a sequel forever. There is a story, and Christian [Slater] has agreed to come back as a kind of Obi-Wan character.”

Cliffhanger: The 1993 action thriller is the latest Sylvester Stallone project to get a new life. The only difference is that Sly won’t be in this production. In the Renny Harlin-directed version, a mountain rescue worker is forced to help criminals retrieve money stolen from a U.S. Treasure plane. The reboot will reportedly involve a group of climbers and multiple locations. Shooting is expected to begin sometime next year.
