Zune & Xbox 360 Getting Friendlier - Use MSoft Points to Buy Music

The Zune in 3 ColorsIn what is surely just the beginning of Microsoft’s plans for mobile gaming domination (hey, we can dream can’t we?), Microsoft announced today that Xbox 360 console owners who have Microsoft Points will now be able to spend those points on tunes for their Zune. A single song on the Zune store will cost 79 MS points (currently, 80 MS Points = $100), so the pricing is roughly comparable to the iTunes Music Store. You’ll also have the option of using a subscription service “Zune Pass” and paying $14.99 / month.

So… who wants to start placing bets on how long it’ll be until Microsoft starts releasing games for the Zune - given that Microsoft Points were mainly used to purchase online games up until now, the connection seems obvious.
