Rihanna and Chris Brown

The drama for Rihanna and Chris Brown continues one day after their Grammy Awards cancellations. Here is where things stand at this point:

  • The $50,0000 bail Chris posted might not be the only financial hit the singer takes. Although the company has not completely severed ties with the 19-year-old, Wrigley has decided to pull the Doublemint Gum commercials featuring Brown. (Too bad they missed the one that actually aired during the Grammys yesterday.) A company spokesman told Us that they are waiting to see how things play out. “We believe Mr. Brown should be afforded the same due process as any citizen,” the rep explained.
  • While police are not naming the victim allegedly assaulted by Brown, numerous sources are now stating that the female was indeed Rihanna (real name: Robin Fenty). TMZ claims that in addition to having two large contusions on her forehead, the 20-year-old also suffered a bloody nose and lip. She was reportedly taken by officers to Cedars-Sinai for treatment of her injuries.
  •

  • There will be several more canceled appearances down the road this week. Chris had previously been scheduled to appear at Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game (and play in Friday’s All-Star Celebrity Game). Meanwhile, Rihanna is still currently slated to perform at a concert this Friday in Kuala Lumpur. (UPDATE: The Kuala Lumpur gig is now officially canceled.)
  •

  • At this point, Brown has only been booked on a felony criminal threats charge. Further charges may still come, though, after a review by the District Attorney’s office. In the meantime, Chris has hired Mark Geragos as his lawyer. (Geragos has previously worked Scott Peterson, Winona Ryder and Michael Jackson.)
  • Brown is scheduled to appear in court on March 5 for the one felony count.
