Beyonce Knowles pregnant

Beyonce pregnant

Beyonce Knowles is pregnant. The singer arrived at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) last night in a loose fitting orange dress, and clutched her visible baby bump as she posed on the red carpet. She told the press: "I have a surprise!" Beyonce's publicist later confirmed the news, telling People.com: "I'm happy to say it's true." The child will be the first for the 29-year-old and her husband, rapper Jay-Z, who married in 2008. During the VMAs Beyonce first cheered on Jay from the side of the stage as he performed new single 'Otis' with Kanye West, then wowed the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles herself, singing 'Love on Top'. She told the crowd: "I want you to feel the love that's growing inside of me." As she sung, Beyonce proudly rubbed her bump, and the cameras panned over to Jay-Z, who had a huge grin on his face. The performance was met with a standing ovation. Beyonce has recently hinted she was thinking of settling down, saying earlier this month how she was hoping to "dedicate herself" to having children. She said: "When you're young - 18 or 19 - you have the energy and drive. That's the time to work as hard as you can. "Now I'm a woman, and because I gave it my all, I can focus on my marriage. I can decide I want to have kids. I can be the mother I want to be and dedicate myself to my children."

Video: Motorola begins teasing the Droid Bionic

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Smartphones, Google, Handhelds, Videos,

The Droid Bionic is a woman! Motorola on Wednesday released the teaser video, "Rule All Machines," for its upcoming Droid Bionic smartphone.

And like in previous ads, the video personifies the device rather than show any part of the actual phone (see below); the latest Droid incarnation is a black leather-clad assassin with a bit of a Black Widow-meets-Droid logo edge.

No, no details yet on an actual launch date or price. The Droid Bionic is arguably Motorola's most highly anticipated product this year, perhaps because it has been delayed since, well, January. The Bionic was hit with one delay after another, forcing Verizon to release a statement explaining that it was undergoing some design revisions. No price has been announced, but an alleged advertisement pegged the phone at $300.

Video: iPhone 5 clone shows cool form factor, horrible UI

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Apple, Handhelds, Rumors, Videos,

Remember those images of the black iPhone 5 clone that we featured a couple of weeks ago? Well, now we've got some video footage taking a look at a white iPhone 5 clone. It's the same form factor as the black phone, and we're pretty sure that this is what the iPhone 5 is going to end up looking like when Apple finally takes the stage to introduce their next smartphone. However, we are still holding out hope for a larger display, and the software on these clones is pretty bad. What do you think?

Video: How iOS 5 Notification Center should really perform

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Apple, Handhelds, Software, Videos,

Have a look at the Notification Center overhaul that Jan-Michael Cart put together. iOS 5 and its Notification Center won't even be publicly available until the fall, and already this guy has made it look old and busted with his much-improved user interface. Kudos.

Kim Kardashian Sues Old Navy Over Doppleganger

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Reality, Gossip, News, Video,

Without a new beauty or fashion line coming out and little buzz regarding her wedding (at the moment, any way), Kim Kardashian has managed to find a way to win back the spotlight. This time, it takes suing clothing retailer Old Navy for allegedly utilizing her likeness in an advertisement (seen above).

Aside from a few references from her reality show (i.e. dentist visit, paparazzi), the fact that the actress -- Melissa Molinaro, who is dating Kim's ex Reggie Bush might I add -- sings and dances in the ad ought to negate any notions of imitating the talentless celebrity socialite. Maybe Old Navy just wanted someone who would actually walk her own dog and could do more than warm-up in a pair of shoes.

In all honesty, I feel like The Black-Eyed Peas have a better chance at suing for their likeness!

Sonos releases new PLAY:3 entry-level HiFi wireless speaker

If you don't know, we're huge fans of Sonos here at Gear Live. There's nothing else like it if you're a music lover for managing and listening to just about anything you can think of, in any room of your home, wirelessly. Today, Sonos is introducing a new product aimed at lowering the cost of entry into Sonos ownership with the PLAY:3. The PLAY:3 is a small, Hi-Fi streaming unit that sports three integrated speakers (a tweeter and two mid-range) and three digital amps, offering big sound. There's no subwoofer (save that for the PLAY:5, formerly known as the Sonos S5) on board, but the PLAY:3 does rock a passive bass "radiator" to make up for it, and we hear it works well. You can pick up the PLAY:3 for $299 from Sonos directly, or in stores. If you're new to Sonos, you'll also need to pick up a $49 Bridge to create the Sonos wireless network in your home. Once you have that, you can then just add more Sonos zones to any room in your home, and they'll automatically pick up the network and start working. It's good times.

We expect to get a test unit of the PLAY:3 in tomorrow, and we will start testing and let you know our thoughts.

Video: Screenflow 3.0 preview

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: PC / Laptop, Software, Videos,

Screenflow is one of our favorite pieces of Mac software here at Gear Live HQ, and version 3.0 is right around the corner. The software lets you record what's happening on your display, along with optional voice and video of yourself, and then lets you easily edit it into a professional screencast. Get a look at the video above if this is your kind of thing.
