Pleo Celebrates Halloween

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Hot Deals, Misc. Tech, Software, Toys,

PleoUgobe is celebrating Pleo’s first Halloween with some new downloadable software. He will not only issue his usual noises, he can also sound like a screeching cat, a spooky ghost, a dragon and a Pleosaurus Rex. The “audio costumes” are free and you will only need a blank SD Card with a minimum of 32MB storage. At a total size of 2.7MB, Ugobe says it will take longer than most downloads, but then maybe Pleo doesn’t like holidays.

The Marc Jacob Skull Watch has a nasal cavity that shows the hour and a drooping eye for the minute. Edwardian Butler Meets and Greets

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Misc. Tech, Toys,

Edwardian ButlerSince it is Halloween, we thought that we would leave our Edwardian butler in charge for the rest of the day. The 72-inch figure moves his head and blinks his eyes. He will respond to your needs with phrases which we are hoping will include, “May I help you?,” “Care for another drink?,” and “Shall I dispense with the evil creatures at the front door for you, sir?” The butler is available at Halloween Mart for $179.99.

    (Have a happy one!)

Freak Everyone out with the Crawling Zombie

Posted by Lolita Beckwith Categories: Toys,

Crawling ZombieWe love, love, love zombie movies, so with Halloween approaching, here’s our little homage. It’s the creepy, Crawling Zombie, a legless chap that’s sound activated; just clap your hands (or tap its hand), and your new friend will actually race across any flat surface!  Plus, the creature’s eyes light up, can growl, and even mutter a few phrases, such as “I can’t feel my legs” (awwwwww).  Great for terrorizing friends, co-workers, and unwanted trick-or-treaters. Available for $39 USD.

Follow The ‘Ghost Hunters’ This Halloween

Ghost Hunters Jason and GrantEver wonder how real life conduct their paranormal investigations? At-home viewers can tag along with Jason, Grant and the team from TAPS this Halloween as they investigate Waverly Manor in Louisville, Kentucky. It’s called one of the most haunted places on Earth, and it’s my hometown.

The original series Ghost Hunters debuted in October 2004, taking a cynical approach to a business that’s usually filled with mediums and psychics. Jason and Grant, founders of TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society) do not claim to have special talents or an affinity for the dead. They are simply plumbers for Roto Rooter, men who set out to debunk and disprove claims of paranormal activity. Using technical equipment and sharp eyes, the Ghost Hunters do their best to prove that places are not haunted.
