lg optimus g pro giveaway

That's right, we are giving away a brand new LG Optimus G Pro for Mother's Day! After all, it's time to thank the moms in your life for their hard work, and the LG Optimus G Pro is just the phone to do that with. In fact, here are a few reasons why we think she'll love it:

  • The LG Optimus G Pro sports a 13 megapixel camera, letting mom capture all those important and impromptu family moments, and includes features like VR Panorama, Cheese Shutter, and Time Catch Shot.
  • It's got a 5.5-inch display. That puts it almost in tablet territory. Mini tablet, if you will. So watching videos, reading books, and surfing the web are done without having to suffer through tiny fonts.
  • The device has almost no bezel. That keeps it thin and easy to hold, despite the larger display size. Very comfortable in the hand.

The LG Optimus G Pro can be had for $199.99 with two-year contract from AT&T, but we are giving you the opportunity to win one right here from Gear Live, courtesy of AT&T. So, how do you enter to win? Simply use the widget below to keep track of your entries! We've got a lot of ways for you to enter, but don't check off any that you don't actually perform. If you do, you'll be eliminated:

By the way, if you wanna pick up an Optimus G Pro on your own, AT&T is currently selling them for $199.99 with two-year contract.

HTC Droid DNA: The best smartphone display ever for $199 on Verizon

HTC Droid DNA

If having a smartphone that has the best specs on paper is your thing, you're gonna wanna sit up and pay attention to the HTC Droid DNA smartphone. The Droid DNA will launch on November 21st on Verizon Wireless, and pre-orders start today. What makes the Droid DNA the undisputed champion of the spec race? Well, for starters, it has what is unquestionably the best display ever seen on a smartphone to date. It's a 1080p 1280 x 1080 display, packing the same number of pixels into it's 5-inch LCD panel that you'd find on your HDTV at home. That equates to 440 pixels-per-inch, blowing away Apple's 326ppi found on its iPhone Retina display.

The Droid DNA will run Android 4.1 Jelly Bean when it launches in ten days, and will be powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 2GB RAM. Naturally, being part of Verizon's flagship Droid line, it'll be a 4G LTE smartphone. Beats Audio with HTC Sense 4+, wireless charging, and a new Super LCD 3 panel round things out here. You can pre-order your Droid DNA today while we work on getting a review unit in-house.

Google Nexus 10 Tablet

Despite the cancellation of the Google event due to the onslaught of the east coast by Hurricane Sandy, the company went ahead and showed off its marketing materials for the new Nexus 10 tablet. It comes in two flavors: a 16GB model for $399, and a 32GB model for $499, both being Wi-Fi models, with neither offering a cellular option. The highlight of the Nexus 10 is the display, which is an impressive 2560 x 1600 resolution, which is higher than the iPad's Retina display. Google's latest flagship tablet will be available on November 13th from the Google Play store in the UK, US, Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Japan and Canada.

Mysterious images of Sony Nexus X smartphone pop up in Piscasa

Posted by Jason Diaz Categories: Smartphones, Google, Handhelds, Rumors,

Sony Nexus X

Rumor has it that Google may release two new Nexus devices: one made by LG, and the other by Sony. Two photos have popped up on the Piscasa photo sharing site, and they seemingly reveal an angled image of a device with Sony and Google branding on the back. This could be a hoax, but from a competitive perspective, two Nexus devices are better than one. The idea could propel the Nexus brand from a niche market to the mainstream; much like what Samsung did with the Galaxy line. Also, the image details shows that it was taken with a Samsung Galaxy Nexus. We caught a  screenshot of it before the author decided to remove that piece of important detail. More images after the break.

Posted by Jason Diaz Categories: Smartphones, Google, Handhelds, Rumors,

LG Nexus 4

It appears that the next Google Nexus smartphone iteration is set to be announced on October 29th, according to French newspaper Le Figaro. The Nexus 4 is being manufactured by LG, a switch from Samsung and HTC, which have built past Nexus devices for Google. A quick run down of the specs: the Nexus 4 sports a whopping 4.7-inch IPS720p  display, 8GB or 16GB of storage space (What? No 32GB or 64GB version?), 2GB RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera, and NFC, all powered by a Snapdragon S4 quad-core processor. Since this a "pure Google experience" device, it will ship with the latest version of Android, Jelly Bean.

Google Nexus 7 review

Nexus 7 review

Google unveiled the Nexus 7 tablet at Google I/O 2012 (watch the keynote here,) making it the very first device to launch with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Many were waiting for Google to compete directly in the tablet space, and the 7-inch Nexus 7 is the answer. The specs show that it's a powerhouse, and the sales have been off the charts, resulting in the 16 GB Nexus 7 being sold out briefly (it's back now.) Still, many consumers have the iPad on their mind when thinking about tablets, regardless of how hard companies like Amazon and Google are pushing their alternatives. Does the Nexus 7 have a place in the marketplace, meeting needs that other tablets can't? Join us in our full review as we explore Google's first tablet.

16GB Nexus 7

A few days ago we reported that the 16GB Nexus 7 tablet was sold out in the Google Play store. The product was an unexpected runaway hit, as Google incorrectly assumed that it would sell more of the 8GB unit than the more expensive 16GB model. It looks like the inventory issues have been sorted out, as the 16GB Nexus 7 is back on sale on Google Play. If you've been jonesing for one, we recommend you snap one up quick before another potential sell-out.
