Another American Pie Movie in the Oven

American Pie movie poster

But maybe this time, it’ll have more plot than Naked Mile. The American Pie franchise is still chugging along, but hopefully the next sequel won’t follow the ill-fated Beta House route.

The aptly-named American Reunion plans to reunite the cast from the very first (and incredibly successful) American Pie movie. Jason Biggs, Eugene Levy and Sean William Scott are all on board with the project (though, considering Scott’s recent move to rehab his fate is now up in the air). Tara Reid, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Mena Suvari, Alyson Hannigan and Jennifer Coolidge are all in talks with Universal about their proposed participation in the film.

Filming is slated to begin in May.

Movie Icon Jane Russell Dies

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Obituaries, Videos,

Janes Russell - London, 2008 During her career in Hollywood, Jane Russell kept company with the likes of Marilyn Monroe, eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes and a host of other legendary personalities. She was best-known for her impressive, Amazonian figure -- which she always put to good use on the big screen. And now, she’s gone.

Jane Russell died on Monday in Santa Maria at the age of 89, 70 years after she was cast in her first Howard Hughes movie (The Outlaw). Her cleavage, amply displayed throughout the flick, created a huge controversy with censors. She did westerns with the Howard Hughes-owned RKO studios for several years in the 1940s before being cast as Marilyn Monroe’s brunette bestie in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. The role gave Russell the chance to show off another of her assets -- her powerful singing voice. You can hear -- and see -- her talents on display in the video above, a clip of Russell's big solo from the movie.

Throughout the 1950s, she continued to star in films. Russell was paired onscreen with Clark Gable, Robert Mitchum and Frank Sinatra -- to name just a few. Russell spent the next years singing in nightclubs, making the occasional movie appearance until 1970.

Amityville’s Horror House Up For Sale

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Horror,

The Amityville HorrorYou can now own a large piece of cinema history - for a cool $1.15 million. The Amityville house, immortalized in the film (the famed house was seen in parts 1-117 of the film…not to mention the recent reboot starring Ryan Reynolds) is up for sale. Just remember, the walls are reported to ooze blood.

The five-bedroom home was purchased by the Lutz family in 1979. The family moved from the home weeks later, purportedly driven from the premises by enormous amounts of paranormal activity. Ronald DeFeo, Jr. murdered six members of his family in the home in 1975. The story told by the Lutz family sparked a series of novels and too many films to research (seriously, the number’s way high). Some skeptics have called the accusations against the house a hoax.

Located in New York, the Amityville house is still a draw for the occasional tourist and looky-loo. According to neighbors, fans of the paranormal (or good horror stories…or, maybe ) still drive by every so often to get a gander at the house.

Sex and the City: Carrie Becomes a PC

Carrie Bradshaw’s Mac has become a staple of the character, as identifiable with as Manolo Blahniks. But all that’s going to change in the Sex sequel, where Carrie will become a PC. Hi, I’m astounded.

Carrie’s Mac became far more than a prop through the course of the six-season series. An entire episode (“My Motherboard, My Self”) was devoted to the device. It also played a large role in the two-part series finale, serving as a metaphor for Carrie’s true self. Now, all that’s being stripped away thanks to advertising agreements and (I suspect) studio interference.

Hewlett-Packard computers (and only HP computers) will be featured in the new movie. will also be featured in upcoming ads for the computer company. Carrie Bradshaw would never sell herself out for some extra movie-making money - remember how she flat-out rejected the Season 5 book cover mock-up? The switch is one that will be noticed only by die-hard Sexers, but it’s a jolting difference all the same.
