The Avengers Overseas: Breaking Box Office Records

So... this is happening: The Avengers is killing it at the overseas box office.

Those lucky overseasers got it first and they're filling up the Marvel treasure chest with a whopping $185 million so far.

Rolling Stone reports that the movie "has it all. And then some."

A sequel will probably be announced sometime between now and the weekend after the US release.

Kudos to all involved, as once again, Marvel proves a box office powerhouse. Only one question remains: "How are those Batman and Superman movies coming along, DC?"

I'll be standing in line for The Avengers this weekend and I'm sure you will be too!

[Also, I'll be making a donation to a worthy cause in return for attending the movie. As you may know, Marvel hasn't been forthcoming with their comic book creators when it comes to licensing, merchandising and movie exploitation. Tom Spurgeon has a brief round-up at The Comics Reporter and I encourage you to follow his links for the details.]
