Comic Book Jobs: Checking Out Craigslist

Posted by Tom Mason Categories: Conventions, Editorials,

Silver Star by Jack KirbyEveryone already knows my unrequited love for Craigslist job-hunting. Let’s see if I can make you a fan as well:

Los Angeles: I’m thinking this might not happen since Wizard World L.A. is canned. But, someone was looking for a female cosplayer to hand out biz cards promoting their website. You need your own costume, though.

Los Angeles: And speaking a costumes, a costume designer is wanted for graphic novel character. They want to launch at the NY Comic Con in October so start sewing.

Las Vegas: Someone needs an “eye-catching model” for a photo shoot and they have $350 to hand over. Eye Catching Model sounds like a great title for a Japanese horror film.

Chicago: A Live Marketing promotion currently running in the Chicago area is seeking a costumed character/Actor to "play the part of our branded Superhero for five (5) days, August 24-28, 2011."

Atlanta: A store down south needs a Retail Assistant Manager who has a knowledge of movies, anime, comic book characters and theatrical shows. That’s usually four different people, but maybe it’s you.

Vancouver, WA: Bluewater, the celebrity bio-publisher, needs “a highly motivated and enthusiastic Digital Rep/ Administrative Assistant.”

Timonium: Diamond Comic Distributors is looking for a Customer Service Rep.
