Comic Book Jobs: Art Editor @ Medikidz

Posted by Tom Mason Categories: Editorials, Independent,

MedikidzThe medically-themed comic book company, Medikidz, is looking for an Art Editor.

But what’s Medikidz, you ask? It’s “a fast-expanding multimedia company set up to explain medicine to children in a way they can understand.”

That way, happens to be through comic books, and they’ve got an “endorsement from Archbishop Desmond Tutu, as well as leading health specialists” to prove it.

Medikidz “aims to address the current paucity of medical information available to children, by explaining disease pathophysiology and pharmacology in a fun, exciting and novel way.”

They’re looking for someone with comic book knowledge and experience to handle their writers (who are also doctors) and artists to make sure they deliver the goods, tracking deadlines as well as quality, and most important: “work closely with the Editor in Chief to ensure medical text and illustrations are aligned, accurate and consistent with the Medikidz brand.”

That Medikidz brand comes from the home office in England so if you're already there, great. If not, consider moving, but you'll have to do that on your own dime.

Experience in all the useful office skills is required, but the main one is experience in actually producing comic books, “essential,” they say.

I say, it sounds like a sweet gig.

Plus, with all those doctors around, you could probably figure out what’s really wrong with you.

Good luck, job seekers!
