No one does the mysterious and brooding type better than Robert Pattinson, which is likely why the folks over at Dior casted him as the mysterious, brooding love interest opposite model Camille Rowe.
Released earlier today, the black-and-white (save for the end - ooh that's artsy!) clip sees Pattinson and Rowe as a fashionable-but-rebellious couple smoking cigarettes and causing a ruckus at a fancy dinner hall. Because, naturally, when you wear Dior Homme, you're compelled to act like you're in a French New Wave film.

NBA 2K14 current-gen trailer goes live [Video]

Earlier today 2K Sports released the new trailer for NBA 2K14, giving a look at a few of the 3,000 new animations, moves, and dribbling techniques you can expect from the game. LeBron James is the cover athlete for this year, and he also happens to be the soundtrack curator for the game as well. The trailer consists of Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC game footage (all of which will be released on October 1,) a disappointment to those who were hoping for a glimpse of Xbox One and Playstation 4 gameplay footage, but 2K Games says that's coming soon in a separate trailer. Apple iPhone 5, gold iPhone 5S, blue iPhone 5C shells compared [Video]

It's widely expected that Apple will take the stage on September 10th to announce its fall smartphone update, including the iPhone 5S and lower-priced iPhone 5C. The iPhone 5S is expected to be available in a new champagne gold color, and we gave you a look at what the gold iPhone 5S should look like. Now, a video has surfaced that shows a black iPhone 5 alongside the rear shell of the white & gold iPhone 5S.
Additionally, a blue iPhone 5C rear casing is also compared, giving us a look at what Apple's iPhone for the budget-minded will look like when it launches next month. All signs are pointing to a September 20th release for Apple's updated fall smartphone line-up.

Watch Cosmo Wright beat Ocarina of Time in under 20 minutes [Video]

If you wanna see somethingn totally insane, check out this video of Cosmo Wright beating The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time in under 25 minutes. Wright uses a bunch of glitches found in the game to skip through major portions, but it's impressive nonetheless to see the holes in the game that make such a feat possible in the first place. Canary consumer home security device turns your house into a quantified home

Here at Gear Live, we've advocated to our readers that they purchase an efficient video surveillance security systems for their home, and if you haven't yet, Canary looks like a great option. It's an affordable, unique, and effective take on home monitoring and security when compared to more expensive conventional alternatives. The very small, sleek product reminds us of the upcoming redesigned Mac Pro, and is packed with sensors that measure temperture, humidity, air quality, and motion, and protect you with a wide-angled HD camera that supports night vision, and microphones.
The iOS and Android app is free and includes all of the basic services, but customers may opt for more increased data storage for a fee. Well, the rumors were correct on the mysterious device that momentarily showed up on Google's support page. The Chromecast is a media dongle that allows you to sling web content the web and cloud-stored content, using a smartphone or Chrome browser as a remote control. It's a bummer that it still doesn't have the ability to stream or mirror content stored on the device like Apple's AirPlay, but hey, for $35, we can't complain.

Back the Ubuntu Edge dual-booting Linux-Android smartphone on IndieGogo

Makers of Ubuntu, Canonical has launched a $32,000,000 Indiegogo campaign for a dual-boot capable smartphone that would feature Ubuntu Linux OS and Google's Android.
Dubbed Ubuntu Edge, the phone will be able to boot into PC mode when docked, with a monitor featuring the full-fledged Ubuntu desktop OS. 128GB of onboard storage is also in the mix, something that the next iPhone is also purported to have. Other key specs include a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass 720p display, instead of the Corning Gorilla Glass used in many smartphones today. Early backers can now opt for the day-one price of $600 and then, after initial sale goes public, the price will jump to $830 when the devices launches in May 2014. Take a gander behind the curtain of how Facebook designers created the Facebook Home launcher for Android. The forty-five minute video essay shows the evolutionary process of cover feed, chat heads, and the premise of mimicking the real world experience with a software operating system not based on apps, but focused rather on people.
On May 8th, the designers behind Facebook Home (Justin Stahl, Francis Luu, Joey Flynn and Mac Tyler) presented a behind-the-scenes look at their work at the Bluxome Street Winery for a small crowd. In this four-part talk, they discuss how they combined their high-level goals with an iterative process and interactive design tools such as Quartz Composer to bring the first version of Home to launch.

Microsoft doubles down on anti-iPad ad campaign amidst major Surface RT failure [Video]

Microsoft's 900 million write off on the Surface RT hasn't prevented them from continuing its advertising campaign efforts by bashing Apple's iPad and propping thier device as the the better alternative. Microsoft recently slashed the price of the Surface RT by $150 in hopes of getting them off store shelves and into customer's hands. The Surface tablet has been suffering from poor sales as it dove into the highly competitive tablet computer arena. The question is will these continued commitment efforts work?
