Betsey Johnson Wants TV Diffusion Line

As rumors continue to circulate around Betsey Johnson’s desire for a diffusion line, the playful designer speaks out on her ideal shopping platform: television.
“I want to do television, like QVC or HSN. That’s in talks. I let the talkers do the talk. I jump in at the end,” Johnson revealed, when quizzed on the hopefully-upcoming line.
If she had to pick between the two networks?
“I like QVC because I’ve done it for breast cancer, T-shirts and stuff over the years. And my dentist is a big QVC-er. And Stan Herman from the CFDA, he does QVC. And my lingerie company does QVC. It just seems more QVC-y to me, in terms of my collaborations with companies.”
While she may be pretty young at heart (and in her clothes), Johnson admits that she has a slight fear of new technologies.

Lohan Blames Ronson’s Family for Relationship Problems

Lindsay Lohan has lashed out at Samantha Ronson’s family. The Mean Girls star, who has had a turbulent relationship with the DJ, has blamed Samantha’s mother and siblings for their rocky romance.
Referring to Samantha on her Twitter page, Lindsay wrote: “she doesn’t respond 2me b/c her family will cut her off if she contacts me…They control the one I love (sic).” (That tweet has since been taken down.) “im incapable of making any sort of difference. I’m in love with her, as she is in love with me….but her loved ones-hate her brilliance+resent her happiness (sic),” Lohan added.

Tracy Morgan Disses Former SNLers in New Book

This Thursday’s return of 30 Rock isn’t the only thing Tracy Morgan fans should be looking forward to. Next week’s release of the comedian’s new book, I Am the New Black, promises to give us more backstage group than the fictional NBC program could provide.
In the autobiography, Morgan talks about his years on Saturday Night Live and is more than candid about those he liked and disliked. Part of what can be heard on an audio recording of the book is apparently an ad-libbed version of what is on the page. Either way, you might not think about former late-night players Cheri Oteri and Chris Kattan the same way again.

Question: If you quit Twitter but rap in a YouTube video…aren’t you still annoying people?
Although she stumped fans earlier this week by suddenly closing her Twitter account, Miley Cyrus insists it has nothing to do with her reported boyfriend.
On Thursday, the Last Song actress posted one final tweet before kissing the social site goodbye. “FYI Liam doesn’t have a Twitter and he wants ME to delete mine with good reason,” the 16-year-old wrote.

Tweetie 2 makes long-awaited debut

Tweetie 2 has just launched and is now available for the iPhone and iPod touch, and the popular Twitter app brings with it many, many improvements and feature additions. Some of the more notable additions include full app persistence, which means that if you leave the app for any reason and come back to it, Tweetie 2 will remember exactly where you were. There’s also a nice offline mode, that lets you read, favorite, and even write drafts of tweets. Once you connect to the Internet again, everything gets synced up.
Many users have been waiting for video support and push notifications to come to Tweetie as well, and Tweetie 2 delivers on both fronts, but we feel both are lacking. With video support, we’d love to see Posterous added as a hosting service, as opposed to just yFrog and TwitVid. As is pertains to push notifications, Tweetie 2 gives it to you, but only on a per-user basis. So you have to go into each user that you want to receive notifications from, and enable them in a menu that is buried a couple of levels deep. We’d love an option to get all mentions and direct messages pushed to the phone from Tweetie 2, rather than having to rely on another Twitter app that can do it (like SimplyTweet) or an app dedicated to pushing content (like Boxcar.)
Still, don’t let those two issues deter you. We’ve been playing with it for a while, and can say without hesitation that Tweetie 2 is now our iPhone Twitter application of choice. Katy Perry is secretly kissing Russell Brand - and she likes it.
The “Hot N Cold” singer was whisked away to Thailand on a romantic break with the presenter after impressing him with a picture of her breasts after they met at the MTV Video Music Awards last month. A source said:
“When they were both in New York for the music awards Russell finally got his chance to work his charm on her. Katy knows his bad boy reputation but could not resist - especially when Russell sent a love poem with a note attached saying, ‘Please send me a poem back.’ Russell killed himself laughing when Katy sent a photo of her boobs with the word ‘poem’ scrawled across them. The next minute Russell picked up the phone and invited her to Thailand for a secret getaway.”

Fred Durst Separates from New Bride

Fred Durst has split from his wife after just three months of marriage. The Limp Bizkit frontman announced he was ending his brief union with Esther Nazarov on his Twitter page.
“For those of you inquiring I will confirm that Esther and I have decided to go our separate ways and we both thank you for your support,” he wrote. “Thank you all so much for your concern and extremely kind words. Sincerely. We remain very positive and wish only the best for each other.”
The couple wed in a surprise ceremony in Las Vegas in July.
Fred, 39, also announced the marriage on Twitter, writing: “Cheers to the universe from me and my lovely wife Esther Durst! We are now one and complete. Life is so much better knowing I have a wonderful wife and family. I love being married and I am the luckiest man alive to be so in love.” He also told fans about his engagement on the social networking site.
Further details of the split have not been announced, although it has been reported the pair were experiencing relationship difficulties for some time. In August, they spent a month on holiday together while Fred was working on new material, and began rowing.
Fred wrote on Twitter at the time: “Cheers to life. When things fall apart it’s good to have a friend to lean on. We cannot go back and start a new beginning, but we can start today and make a new ending.”

Lily Allen Quits Music

Yet another actress leaves her music career to pursue her Hollywood fantasy. This time it’s “Smile” singer Lily Allen.
The British pop star made the announcement yesterday on her blog. The news comes following the release of her second album, It’s Not Me, It’s You. Yes, you read that correctly—she’s calling it quits after her sophomore album.
Instead of music, Allen plans to bide her time with acting—she’ll be making her debut in a West End production of Neil LaBute’s play, Reasons To Be Pretty.
Allen was forced to take down her blog because “the abuse was getting too much” (so said her Twitter page), but here’s what it did read:
Just so you know, I have not renegotiated my record contract and have no plans to make another record (applause). I do however remain a fan of new music, so this is not some selfish crusade. The days of me making money from recording music has been and gone as far as I’m concerned, so I don’t (at this point) stand to profit from legislation. Except future purchases of previously recorded material (which won’t be much).

Miley Cyrus Blasts the Paparazzi

Teenage phenomenon Miley Cyrus claims that her life is being ruined by the paparazzi.
The Hannah Montana singer has blasted photographers who follow her everywhere and has branded the profession “disgusting.”
The 16-year-old singer wrote on her Twitter page, “Being a paparazzi is the most DISGUISTING job imaginable. Being followed around by creepy photographers is NOT in the job description! YOU try being stuck inside cuz creepers are waiting for u. [sic]”
In reply to her comments gossip blogger Perez Hilton defended photographers, saying: “But some of them are your friends! You’re always chummy with that one videographer!”
Miley, who has sold over four million records, has previously revealed she has bad dreams about being photographed: “I have nightmares about paparazzi. I always have these flashing things in my dreams. They’re so scary.”
