Emily Deschanel Gives Birth to Baby Boy

Bones actress Emily Deschanel gave birth to her first child, a son, last Wednesday; she and her It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia husband David Hornsby named their newborn Henry Hornsby.
The longtime animal rights activist maintained her vegan diet throughout her pregnancy.
Deschanel's family and friends took to Twitter to express their congrats. Sister Zooey Deschanel looks forward to her aunt duties: "I am super excited to be an aunt!" Bones co-star TJ Thyne couldn't quite contain his excitement: "CONGRATULATIONS EMILY D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Steve Jobs death tweet results in What’s Trending’s CBS deal dying

Steve Jobs might be alive and kicking, but those responsible for posting a Twitter message suggesting otherwise have suddenly found a new death on their hands to talk about: The death of their Web show's affiliation with CBSNews.com.
The Twitter account for the web show "What's Trending" was responsible for the Friday Twitter message: "Reports say that Steve Jobs has passed away. Stay tuned for more updates." The problem? Jobs sure wasn't dead.
The show attempted to cover its bases by disavowing the death report minutes later, but armies of users retweeting the update had already cast the unconfirmed report out into cyberspace. And CBS was left to mop up the egg on its face–even though What's Trending shares no newsgathering partnership with the company, plenty of news reports started to attribute the erroneous tweet to, "a CBS Twitter account."

Victoria Beckham and Baby Harper Arrive for NYFW

Victoria Beckham has jetted in to New York ahead of her show at New York Fashion Week. The singer-turned-designer - who was accompanied by her eight-week-old daughter, Harper Seven, as she arrived yesterday - will present her Spring/Summer 2012 collection on Sunday at the New York Public Library, and Victoria has recently revealed both she and her little girl were excited about the event.
"Mummy and baby Harper are very excited for fashion week!!! X VB Casting in NY! Today I'm wearing #victoriabeckham and Baby Harper wearing Makie, excited for FW! x VB (sic)" she wrote on her Twitter.

Hugh Hefner Gets Invite to Gene Simmons Wedding

Playboy boss Hugh Hefner has been invited to Gene Simmons' wedding. Hefner has received an invitation to attend the nuptials of the KISS rocker and his fiancee Shannon Tweed on October 1.
Hugh is very excited for the couple, who have been in a relationship for 28 years, because Gene and the former Playboy Playmate met at his home. "I received a wedding invitation from PMOY Shannon Tweed & rock star Gene Simmons today. They met at the Mansion. (sic)," he wrote on his Twitter.
The 85-year-old business mogul - who is famous for throwing wild parties at his Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles - also revealed he was visited by his ex-girlfriend Holly Madison on Thursday. The 31-year-old blonde beauty decided to drop in to see Hugh on her day off from Las Vegas burlesque production Peepshow. "Holly came by & had dinner at the Mansion with GND producer Kevin Burns on the day off from her Vegas show "Peepshow." Good to see her. (sic)" he tweeted.

Marc Jacobs Turns to Fetish Inspiration

For his Fall/Winter 2011 collection, Marc Jacobs wanted "severity and fetish."
The line look focuses on sexiness, and the designer says he was keen to take his new line to the limit: "I wanted severity and fetish. It was about rules and dress codes which are taken to different places and made a bit caricature."
However, fellow his fellow designer Phoebe Philo wanted her collection to be a little more reserved. "I like the idea of women not showing too much, of being quite reserved in a way, and quite covered," The Celine sartorialist said.
As well as his "fetish" collection, Marc recently revealed he is to create a plus-sized clothing line. The designer will become the first top fashion label to create clothes for women above a US Size 12, as he feels females with bigger body shapes should be able to have as much choice as those with slimmer frames. "We are in talks now. For plus sizes. Listen, we are in the very beginning stages of talking to a partner about plus sizes. I'm a big guy 6ft 4in, 210 lbs. It's not easy for me to find clothes. Of course I can have them made. I know how everyone feels. I try to diet but... I don't like the phrase plus-sizes. Any suggestions? We gotta do larger sizes. I'm with you. As soon as I get back to NY. I'm on it! It will take me about a year. But stay with us. (sic)" Robert Duffy - president of the Marc Jacobs label - told followers of his Twitter.

Mel B Gives Birth

Mel B "laughed so hard" when she gave birth. The Spice Girls singer - who had her third child yesterday, joining Phoenix, 12, and four-year-old Angel from previous relationships - admits the newborn is "amazing," but the birth was unusual, with her husband Stephen Belafonte close to fainting during the drama.
"Finally our baby arrives,Stephen nearly passed out,Phoenix screamed,I laughed so hard the baby popped out!!! She is just sooo amazing!!(sic)," she wrote on her Twitter.
A name for Mel's third daughter has yet to be announced, but her former Spice Girls bandmate Emma Bunton was quick to congratulate her: "Well done Mummy! Lots of love. Xxx(sic)"
Mel previously revealed she was keen to get the birth over with quickly, and had been trying unusual techniques to induce labor: "Ideally I want it to come naturally, but I've tried everything. I've tried the hot food, the running, the sex and violence. I've tried it all. And it just seems to be stuck and hibernating in there getting bigger and bigger, so it's coming out this week for sure."
NASA fires up humanoid robot, Robonaut 2

Coming in at three feet four inches and 330 pounds, it’s Robonaut 2, NASA’s humanoid robot. Six months after it was first delivered to the International Space Station by Space Shuttle Discovery, the robot has been powered on for the first time.
Robonaut 2, or R2, tweeted the progress of its first test from the @AstroRobonaut feed, operated by NASA’s Joe Bibby, a multimedia specialist working out of Houston’s Johnson Space Center, where R2's ground support is located.
“My power cable is plugged in and my status LEDs on my power backpack are on,” Robonaut tweeted Monday morning.

Katy Perry Thanks Fans For Chart Record

Katy Perry says she "owes" fans after equaling a US chart record.
The 26-year-old singer thanks fans after her latest song "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" topped the Billboard Hot 100, making it the fifth track from her Teenage Dream one album to top the charts - a record initially set by Michael Jackson with the singles from his 1987 album Bad.
Upon hearing the news, Katy Tweeted, "What a way to wake up! SO proud to announce that the little-engine-that-could of a song 'LAST FRIDAY NIGHT' is officially #1 & made HISTORY! & u know, I couldn't have done it with out ya, really I owe u guys BIG... so take this moment to give yourself a high FIVE!!! #allbecauseofu (sic)"

Coldplay Announce New Album Title

Coldplay have announced their new album will be called Mylo Xyloto. The "Every Teardrop is a Waterfall" band have announced the album will be released on October 24, preceded by a second single, "Paradise," which will come out on September 21.
A post on the group's website showed the graffiti inspired cover of the album, with handwritten text underneath reading, "Hello Everybody, we have finished our new album, it's called Mylo Xyloto. We hope you like it and we hope you are well. The letter is then signed by the band members - Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman and Will Champion- and their manager, Phil Harvey. It reads, 'Love from Chris, Will, Guy, Phil and Jonny. P.S. it is pronounced 'MY-lo Zy-leto.'"
They later Tweeted what appeared to be the names of more of the songs on the record, writing, "Weird sense of relief announcing 'Mylo Xyloto' and release date. 'Paradise', 'Up in flames', 'Princess of China' - let's get em out there! (sic)."

Katy Perry Nominated For 9 VMAs

"E.T" singer Katy Perry felt like she had woken up on Christmas Day when she discovered she had received nine MTV Video Music Awards nominations. Perry is up for more prizes than any other artist, and she still can't quite believe how many accolades she is in the running for.
"OMG! I just got word that I'm nominated for 9 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS!!! I'm kinda speechless/nervous/turned on! I can't sleep . I'm so excited . It feels like every birthday/christmas/first kiss I ever had. Thanks so much for believing in me. I owe u. [sic]" she wrote on her Twitter.
Katy - who is married to Russell Brand - has urged her fans to go and vote for her to win, and she is already thinking about what daring dresses she is going to wear to the ceremony, which takes place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on August 28.
