VIDEO: Faux Breaking Dawn Trailer
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Adaptation, Romance, Satire, Sequels, Trailers, Upcoming Releases, Videos,
Warning: Explicit language and spoilers!
Production on the film hasn’t started yet, but we’ve got a Breaking Dawn trailer just the same…after a fashion. The trailer uses the story line from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, the novel, to mock a few of the more ridiculous story elements which (we think) will be featured in the upcoming full-length movie.
If you haven’t read the books and don’t want to know the plot, don’t click!

Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis play rival ballerinas in Black Swan, but this film isn’t made for little girls.
The dark thriller revolves around a New York ballet company which is staging a performance of Swan Lake. Portman’s character is picked to dance the lead role, but the arrival of a new dancer (Kunis) creates new tension and competition.
Kunis stretches her villain chops in the flick, which will be released December 1.

First Look: Teaser Trailer for Joaquin Phoenix’s Strange Film
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Magnolia, Documentary, Trailers, Upcoming Releases, Videos,
I’m not sure if it’s possible to make a film that has elements of Borat, Crazy Heart
andMaking the Band—but director Casey Affleck may have done that here.
In this “documentary” titled I’m Still Here: The Lost Years of Joaquin Phoenix, we get an inside look at the subject’s most drastic transformation since changing his name from Leaf Phoenix. But is it all for real? And do we really care what Joaquin has supposedly become?
Those unable to turn away from this train wreck can watch more if it when I’m Still Here debuts September 10.

First Look: Christina Aguilera and Cher in Burlesque
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Sony, Drama, Music, Trailers, Upcoming Releases,
If a young Christina Aguilera had chosen to work in burlesque clubs rather than the Mickey Mouse Club, the result might have looked a little something like this.
In the Showgirls-esque film Burlesque, the “Not Myself Tonight” singer brings her small-town dreams to Los Angeles. There, she lands a job as a cocktail waitress, a mentor named Tess (Cher) and a jealous rival named Nikki (Kristen Bell).
The Sony production - also starring Julianne Hough, Cam Gigandet and Stanley Tucci - hits the stage November 24, 2010.

First Look: Dexter Season 5 Trailer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, Cable, Showtime, Video,
“It’s how it should be - hunter, prey. Let the game begin.”
At some point during every season of Dexter, we all ask ourselves the same question: “How the hell is he going to get out of this one?”
It’s time to hit replay.
When the Showtime series returns on September 26, Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) will have to add “single father” and “grieving husband who shows know emotions” to his list of responsibilities. How is he going to juggle it all and keep Quinn (Desmond Harrington) off his track? And how the heck does Julia Stiles figure into all of this?? I’m dying to know.

First Look: Paranormal Activity 2 Trailer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Paramount, Horror, Sequels, Trailers, Upcoming Releases, Videos,
NOTE: Haven’t yet seen the first film? Then don’t watch this preview.
If you were one of the many who did watch the last year’s hit Paranormal Activity, you might have wondered which direction the filmmakers were going to take next. Well, based on this new trailer (which was pulled out of several Texas theaters for being too scary), we can see that they’ve at least upped the ante by throwing a baby and a German Shepherd into the mix.
Unfortunately, we don’t know much else. We still don’t even know if the movie - opening this October 22 - will somehow involve the original’s two characters. (IMDB doesn’t even have actors listed yet for the cast.) But, seriously - do the details really matter to you?
Just be sure to keep one thing in mind: Even though it appears Paranormal Activity 2 has traded in hand-held cameras for the fixed, surveillance kind - you might want to bring your Dramamine anyway. It’s better to be safe than sorry.

First Full-Length Deathly Hallows Trailer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Warner Bros, Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Family, Science Fiction, Sequels, Trailers, Upcoming Releases,
I’d like to thank the brilliant marketer who supplied us with this timely - and temporary - distraction from all the Eclipse madness.
Although we were already offered a glimpse of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I earlier this month, any new opportunity to stare at Voldemort’s nostrils is always welcome. It’s also very exciting to see Superman‘s General Zod make a cameo on those railroad tracks. (What? That’s not… Well, it looks like an epic movie anyway.)
What does Harry Potter have that’s “worth living for”? Find out when Part 1 of the “motion picture event of a generation” unfolds on November 19.

Listen to The Social Network’s First Teaser Trailer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Columbia Pictures, Biopics, Drama, Trailers, Upcoming Releases, Videos,
Last week, Columbia Pictures offered up a portrait of a serial killer as a teaser for its upcoming movie about Facebook. Now, we at least have some voices - and only voices - to go with the film.
In this new trailer for The Social Network, we get a better feel for where director David Fincher and writer Aaron Sorkin are going with the poster’s tagline: “You Don’t Get to 500 Million Friends Without Making a Few Enemies.” (Give the ominous tone of the music, I think I’m going to be perfectly happy with the 300+ friends I have right now.)
Want to know more about the guys responsible for creating the timesuck we’re addicted to today? Then schedule your next Facebook event for October 1.
