George Clooney Compares Himself to Elizabeth Taylor
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Television, Charity, Kind Acts,
George Clooney has compared himself to Elizabeth Taylor.
The Ides of March actor was arrested for civil disobedience in Washington last week alongside his journalist father Nick and other protesters after a demonstration outside the Sudanese Embassy and George says he learned from an early age that celebrities are more newsworthy than humanitarian crises.
"I saw my father in the 1970s doing really good stories and then getting bumped because there was a Liz Taylor story that was going to be out. And the story that he did that had real some social value was going to get bumped. I said to my dad, 'Remember how you used to get all your stories bumped by Liz Taylor or something happened in Hollywood?' And he said, 'Yes.' I said, 'Well, let's go to Darfur. And you be the newsman and I'll be Liz Taylor and let's get it on the air.' And he said, 'OK,'" he told Fox News on Sunday.
George is trying to draw attention to the accusation that Sudan's president, Omar al-Bashir, is provoking a humanitarian crisis and blocking food and aid from entering the Nuba Mountains from South Sudan and admitted he had some close calls when he travelled to the country to film the atrocities.

Javier Bardem’s Dream James Bond Role

Javier Bardem says starring in the new James Bond movie is a dream come true for him.
The Spanish actor plays the villain in the 23rd movie about the suave spy, entitled Skyfall and he says he signed up because he wanted to work with director Sam Mendes and he's always been a big fan of the films.
"I was born watching James Bond movies and there are many reasons to do this - the cast, the script, the story, the role and, of course, Sam Mendes," he said.
Javier also revealed how he likes making political statements with his work: "Movies are powerful. But I think everything is political. When you put gas in your car you are making a political statement, because you are supporting the empires that control and continue the destruction of some countries. What I mean is that of course there has to be a relationship between politics and film. The question is, how far do you go with it? If you feel you should do something, then do it, And do it in a way, or form, or shape that you think can help the best, which is my case is making movies. There are also a lot of movies that are just entertainment, which is good and we all need it."

George Clooney "didn't know" he wasn't allowed to "hang out" at the Sudanese Embassy.
The Ides of March actor was arrested for civil disobedience in Washington earlier today alongside his father Nick and other protesters after a demonstration outside the building aimed at drawing attention to the accusation that Sudan's president, Omar al-Bashir, is provoking a humanitarian crisis and blocking food and aid from entering the Nuba Mountains from South Sudan.

George Clooney has been arrested.
The Ides of March actor was taken away in handcuffs along with other protesters, including his father, outside the Sudan Embassy in Washington this morning following three verbal warnings from officers.
The actor - who was joined at the demonstration by his father Nick and Democratic Rep. Jim Moran among others - had said he was taking part in the protest to draw more attention to the accusation that Sudan's president, Omar al-Bashir, is provoking a humanitarian crisis and blocking food and aid from entering the Nuba Mountains from South Sudan. The group held signs which read, "Sudan: Stop Weapons of Mass Starvation."
George had previously warned that if action were not taken in the next few months "we're going to have a real humanitarian disaster.

Militant Atheist Daniel Radcliffe
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Child Stars, Legal Issues,
Daniel Radcliffe is a "militant atheist."
The 22-year-old star was brought up in a Christian/Jewish household, but believes it is important to separate religion and education because he thinks sex lessons are important.
"I'm not religious, I'm an atheist, and a militant atheist when religion starts impacting on legislation. We need sex education in schools. Schools have to talk to kids from a young age about relationships, gay and straight. In Britain it's better - more of a conversation is being had."
Daniel continues to have a vested interest in politics, but having supported the Liberal Democrat party in the last UK election, he now thinks he is more of a Labour follower, because he believes they stand up for more left-wing values: "I will probably be going to Labour. From what I've seen of Ed Miliband I really like him and he speaks for what I believe in. I think he's genuine, genuinely left wing and will act as such if he gets in."
Russell Brand to Host New Late Night TV Series

Russell Brand has signed up to front a new topical late night TV series.
The stand-up comic-and-actor has agreed a deal with cable network FX to present the series on which Russell will give his "unvarnished, unfiltered take on current events, politics and pop culture."
"We're very excited to add Russell Brand's bracingly funny, original, and honest voice to the FX comedy line-up. We look forward to supporting Russell and his partner Troy Miller's ambition to strip down the hosted comedy format to its most fundamental elements and to create something daring and unfiltered for the FX audience," said Nick Grad -- FX executive vice-president of original programming -- in a statement.
The 36-year-old star claims he is "excited" to the "point of climax" about the project, which will hit screens next spring. Making a joke about Fox News political commentator Bill O'Reilly, Russell exclaimed, "I am so excited I'm on the point of climax. In fact, I will put the 'O' into FX, which spells Fox, which is actually the channel's real name. That's the only thing that worries me about all this, to be honest. At least I'll be able to have a Christmas drink with Bill O'Reilly."

Michelle Obama Repeats an Alexander McQueen Look
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, News,

First Lady Michelle Obama wore a chic Alexander McQueen dress to a Chambers of Commerce meeting yesterday. As most are already pointing out, she has previously -- gasp -- worn the number last year.
First, who wouldn't repeat an Alexander McQueen piece like that? Second, as I previously have made clear in defending Kate Middleton, what is so wrong with repeating an outfit? We praise Michelle for doing "normal" things like shopping at Target -- are we going to frown upon her for repeating outfits like the rest of us?
If the woman really wants to wear a dress that she loves again, let the woman wear it!

The tabloids are reporting that the former Governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger, used California taxpayer funds to cover up his philandering ways. In response, the state’s Attorney General will launch an official inquiry.
It’s not just a marital spat anymore. The charges being leveled at Arnold, which come from the head of security at a California hotel, claim that he took advantage of the California Highway Patrol, using his status as Governor to have them escort his various women to and from his regular suite at the Hyatt Regency. The hotel denies all knowledge that they have employed the guard who spoke out, whose name is William Taylor.

Arnold Admitted Adultery After Confrontation with Maria Shriver
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Movies, Television, Break-ups, Divorce, Rumors,

Arnold Schwarzenegger successfully hid an affair and an illegitimate child for 13 years, so why did he decide to finally come clean? Was it a change of heart? Was it a buildup of intense guilt? No, it was the classic scenario: the wife found out about it. Did no one learn anything from the Tiger Woods debacle?
RadarOnline and Star report that Maria Shriver was suspicious of Arnold and the housekeeper, Mildred Baena, with whom he fathered a child. Under Shriver’s questioning, Baena broke and admitted to the affair. Arnold finally admitted to his wrongdoing when his wife confronted him.
Shriver has hired a top divorce lawyer, Laura Wasser, though officially no divorce proceedings have been filed. Shriver and Schwarzenegger have been married for 25 years.

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Television, Rivalries,

Remember the church that wanted to stage a protest at screen legend Elizabeth Taylor’s memorial because she was an active AIDS humanitarian? Well, they’re not big fans of comedienne Lisa Lampanelli, either.
Lampanelli, an outspoken proponent of gay rights, has a show scheduled in Kansas this weekend, where the Westboro Baptist Church is based. The WBC is organizing a protest of Lampaenelli’s show, but she’s going to make sure it backfires.
