Lily Allen to Write About Motherhood on New Album

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Upcoming Releases, Pop,
Lily Allen will "definitely" write about motherhood on her new album.
The "Not Fair" hitmaker - who is expecting her second child with husband Sam Cooper - recently announced she was returning to music after a three-year break and says her experiences of family life will be an influence on her writing.
Asked if her new life will be a subject matter, Lily - who also has 11-month-old Ethel with Sam - said, "Yeah. It definitely will."
Although she has been working hard in the studio, Lily - who is working under her married name of Lily Rose Cooper - has warned fans they face a wait to hear her new material: "I'm just tinkering away. I'm not going to put anything out until I've got an end product which I think is amazing - or, you know, good. I don't think there's going to be anything out in the next few months. But hopefully in the next year."

Anjelica Huston’s Dad Made Her Feel ‘Plain’

Anjelica Huston's father made her feel unattractive.
The 61-year-old actress was devastated as a teenager when she heard her actor dad John Huston say he thought she would grow up to be "plain," and his remark made her feel very insecure about her appearance.
"I was not at my happiest in my late teens. I went from confident and secure to shy and insecure and back again. I wish I could have been more accepting of myself. I had once overheard my father saying, when I was about 15 or 16, that I might turn out to be plain. That was a particularly unattractive moment for me. My nose was growing and my chin was receding, by comparison, and no one knew more than me how plain I felt."
Anjelica - whose mother Enrica died when she was 18 - also admitted that working with her father on one of her first movies was such a bad experience, it put her off acting for many years:

Amy Adams Loves Motherhood Balancing Act

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Features,
Amy Adams enjoys the challenges that come with being a mother and an actress.
The Master star has a two-year-old daughter, Aviana, with her fiance, actor-and-artist Darren Le Gallo, and although it can be stressful she loves both roles. Amy - who met Darren in acting class in 2001 - told USA Today, "I love that balance. I had a talk show blitz the other day. I had three hours down, so I raced home, changed out of my nice clothes and we walked to Central Park (in New York City) and did the merry-go-round because I promised her we'd do it before we went back - and she remembers. And then we walked back."
The 38-year-old redhead also revealed Aviana is a very strong-willed child and she doesn't even like to be comforted by her mother when she is upset.
Recalling a flight when Aviana wouldn't stop sobbing, she said, "It's funny. She doesn't like to be held when she's upset. She's very independent. This one woman kept going, 'Why doesn't she just pick her up?' It's like, 'Do you know what would happen if I tried to pick my child up right now?' She would lose her mind. I probably shouldn't worry about it. I love my child."

Dina Lohan Offers Advice to Amanda Bynes’ Parents

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Television, Child Stars,
Dina Lohan has offered Amanda Bynes' parents advice on their out-of-control daughter.
Amanda's recent troubles - which included having her car impounded and being charged with driving on a suspended license - have been compared to the fall from grace of Dina's daughter Lindsay and she says Amanda's parents need to be there to help the 26-year-old former child star through her ongoing drama.
"You know, I'm a mother, and I feel that that's for her mother to speak about, and not me, because people have spoken for my child and myself, so I really feel that's for her parents to discuss and Amanda herself. [But] just be around... It's hard when your daughter's not, you know, over 18, and you want to let them go... and they want to, you know, feel like they're in control of themselves. So it's a very strategic place for a parent to be, but she'll be OK," she said on Entertainment Tonight.
Dina is no stranger to controversy and was recently accused of being drunk during an interview on TV show Dr Phil, something which she strongly disputes: "I was absolutely not under, intoxicated, or on any kind of medication. I was extremely upset."
Alicia Keys Is Blessed with Her Son

Alicia Keys feels blessed she has a "good" child.
The "Girl on Fire" singer has a 23-month-old son, Egypt, with husband Swizz Beatz and while she admits the tot can be hard work at times, she knows she's lucky to have a son who is generally well behaved.
"I want him to be great and there's a time for everything so we go through a lot of emotions but it's mostly all love, which is the most important thing. But he's a good one, he's really good - I definitely got a good one!" she said.
Alicia also says Egypt is starting to take after her when it comes to music and has already started playing the piano: "He'll be two next month and he has a huge personality - he's just incredible. He loves to play the piano and he loves to dance. He's just a joy. I haven't got him doing the scales just yet, and I don't want to be that type of mother but I have observed that when he's playing the piano against another child of his age, the other child is like bang, bang, bang and he's different. So he has good construction in his fingers so maybe it's just natural."

Nicole Richie Wants a Stable Home for Kids

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Music, Television, Celebrity Babies, Features,
Nicole Richie wants her children to have "stability."
The 30-year-old designer spent a lot of time on the road with her father Lionel Richie when she was growing up but wants Harlow, four, and three-year-old Sparrow - her kids with rocker husband Joel Madden - to spend most of their time at home.
"One of the biggest differences in the way I'm raising my kids versus the way I was raised is that I was on tour a lot. I don't really do that with my kids. It's important to me that they have stability. I like them to be home," she said.
However, Nicole - who has previously battled drug addiction - insists there was nothing "wrong" with the way she was raised by Lionel and her mother Brenda. "I was taken out of school and had tutors. By the time my father went onstage, I was asleep. There's no right or wrong way to raise a family. Look, I don't know anyone who can say they don't just try and do the best that they can do," she added.
Salma Hayek: ‘I’m a Pushy Mother’

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Child Stars, Birthdays, Features,
Salma Hayek can be a pushy mother. The Savages actress used to think she was a "laid back" mom until she had a party for her daughter Valentina - who turned five today - and found she was pushing through crowds of children to make sure her little girl had a candy.
"I make an effort to be laid back and often I want to giver her space, and then I catch myself doing things. In Paris I had a birthday party with a pinata with kids, who were Mexican, they were boys and they were older. She was really concerned she wouldn't be able to take a candy when the pinata broke. I said, 'Don't worry.' When the pinata broke, she couldn't get in, I was pushing them, trying to get in. And then I caught myself and I thought, 'I've turned into one of those mothers!' I moved away. I think I'm a bit of both. I think we all are," she said.
Despite Valentina being the daughter of an Oscar-nominated actress and a billionaire father - French fashion mogul Francois Henri Pinault - Salma thinks her offspring wants to become a gymnast because of the London Olympics. "She's into the gymnastics because of the Olympics. It's amazing how she points her toes, like a little bird or something. She's doing it every day," she added.
Katie Holmes Tries to Say No to Suri

Katie Holmes is finding it hard not to give daughter Suri everything she wants.
The former Dawson's Creek actress - who was given primary custody of the six-year-old tot as part of her divorce settlement from ex-husband Tom Cruise - knows it's important Suri is not spoiled but has told friends it's not easy telling her no because Tom is happy to indulge in his daughter's every whim.
"She said the divorce has been hard on Suri and she's acting out. Katie says no to some things, but gives a little leeway. She knows Tom is going to spoil her," one friend said.
While Katie wants Suri to stay grounded, it was recently revealed Tom had set up a "sizeable trust fund" for the little girl. The Top Gun actor - who is giving his former spouse $400,000 per year in child support until Suri turns 18 - has created the additional payment plan for the youngster upon Katie's request, although the youngster will be unable to fully legally claim the money until she's in her 30s.

Nelly Furtado Wants a More ‘Professional’ Image

Nelly Furtado wants to be seen as a more "professional" singer.
The 33-year-old star is known for her raunchy image and risque lyrics in songs like "Promiscuous Girl," but says the birth of her daughter Nevis eight years ago made her want to appear more sophisticated and encouraged her to censor her songs.
"From (Nevis' birth) forward I've been looking at my career in a more professional way. Before, I was just floating down the river and not really sure what I was doing. Writing-wise I keep her in mind - the tone of things, how I present myself," she said.
The Canadian star has even replaced the word "promiscuous" with "mysterious" in her infamous hit song when she performs it live. "I guess I wanted to show that the song's still a good song without that word in it. It's still melodic," she explained.
