American Idol’s Amanda Overmyer: A Long and Winding Road
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol,

I immediately adored Amanda Overmyer. When she started to sing her first note during her audition, I hoped right away that she would get a golden ticket. Not only did Overmyer win this much-coveted prize, but she sailed through Hollywood Week and managed to out-last thirteen of the Top 24 American Idol contestants. And listen, that ain’t bad.

The second post-Beatles elimination night on American Idol began with the usual name-dropping, as host Ryan Seacrest named such megastars as Dolly Parton, Mariah Carey, Andrew Lloyd Weber and Neil Diamond - all of whom are slated to be mentors during the upcoming weeks. The song-writing contest was touted again, where anyone and everyone can submit a tune to be sung during the season finale. The Top 11 Idols then launched into a Beatles medley, including “While My Guitar Gently Weeps,” and “Here, There and Everywhere” in the mishmash.

We Love Our New Tinbot!
Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Accessories, Design, Portable Audio / Video,
We just received a tinbot and couldn’t be happier. Designed by artist Christopher Lee, it fit perfectly with our iPod classic. Everything is quite snug inside and we think that it gives our music player quite a bit of class. We figure for all our clumsiness that this case, with tin on the outside and neoprene inside, is perfect for travel and a lot classier than our basic iPod case. We definitely recommend them for the terminally clumsy who have an iPod video 30/60/80GB or a classic 80/160GB at the MSRP of $29.95. Although it is not waterproof, the tinbot is certainly water-resistant to a spring rain. A very kewl gift for others, too, especially if you want to decorate it yourself, as they have one you can customize for $10.00 less.
(Thanks, Julian)
Check out more shots after the jump.

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Editorial,

Tuesday saw the evening where, according to host Ryan Seacrest, “the number one show in the country celebrates the number one band of all time.” I see nothing in this statement to debate, but the second week of Beatles on American Idol did offer some disappointments.

Paula Abdul: Singer, Dancer, Judge…Mother?
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip,
Moms-to-be, keep your digital cameras close at hand during those jaunts to the park. Sometime in the next handful of years, American Idol’s Paula Abdul just might be joining you. Abdul has recently told interviewers that she’d like to have a child in the next three to five years, and she’ll be adopting. She will not go abroad to find the child, saying “I wouldn’t necessarily adopt from abroad like some celebs. I just want a healthy baby.”
Right now, Abdul’s “baby” is her comeback album. Many old Paula Abdul tunes, remixed, will be featured, as well as “five new songs” according to Abdul. Her latest single “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow,” has been getting a ton of press…most of it unflattering. But there is no doubt that Abdul has found success in many entertainment ventures…so can motherhood be that far behind?
