Monday Ratings: Weak Premiere for American Gladiators
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, Dancing With The Stars, House, Medium, The Bachelor, Ratings,
Why NBC chose to bring back American Gladiators at this time is beyond me. Had the show debuted after the latest round of finales, it might have fared better than fourth place. Meanwhile, ABC was another winner with the viewers while FOX was tops in the demos.
8pm
- Dancing with the Stars (18.3 million, 4.2/11 in 18-49) was the night’s most-watched show.
- Bones (9.4 million, 3.2/9) grew by 1.3 million.
- Britney Spears helped draw 700,000 more to How I Met Your Mother (9 million, 3.8/9); The Big Bang Theory (7.9 million, 2.9/9) tacked on another 300,000.
- The American Gladiators debut (4.9 million, 1.9/5) did about 1/2 as well as Deal or No Deal.
- Approximately 2.6 million tuned in to hear Serena’s big secret on Gossip Girl (1.2/3).

MONDAY (4/28)
- Deal or No Deal (NBC, 8pm): “Darth Vader subs for The Banker in a Star Wars-themed episode that also features Carrie Fisher, R2-D2 and Chewbacca, who cheer on contesants in a winner-take-all match.” As if I needed a reason to avoid this program altogether.
- House (FOX, 9pm): New episode. “House suspects that an ER patient with a sunny disposition has a bigger problem than was initially diagnosed. The reason: He thinks the patient is too nice.” I have to admit it—cheery people are a freak of nature.
- Medium (NBC, 10pm): “Joe surprises Allison by buying her a used car, but Allison’s subsequent visions warn of the vehicle’s unsavory past.” Is it a 1958 Plymouth Fury that responds to the name ‘Christine’?
- CSI: Miami (CBS, 10pm): “A clue in a case involving the discovery of a body point the CSIs to a robbery that’s being planned on a target who holds a disturbing secret.” Murders have never been linked to anti-climatic or lame secrets.

Monday Ratings: CBS Comedies Have Last Laugh
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Games, Prime Time, Reality, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, Dancing With The Stars, Medium, The Bachelor, Ratings,
Although Dancing with the Stars was yesterday’s most-watched program, the series had its lowest-rated episode ever. ABC ended up with the win in with the viewers, while CBS’ strong comedy lineup secured a victory in the demos.
8pm
- Dancing with the Stars (4.0/11 in 18-49) glided to 17 million.
- A 2-hour Deal or No Deal (9.7 million, 2.9/7) easily outperformed that My Dad is Better Than Your Dad program.
- A new episode of Bones (2.8/8) returned to 8.5 million.
- The Big Bang Theory (2.9/8) got things rolling with 7.7 million; How I Met Your Mother (8 million, 3.4/9) improved from there.
- Gossip Girl* (1.3 million, 0.6/2) remained steady with last week.

MONDAY (4/14)
- Bones (FOX, 8pm): New episode. “When a motorcycle racer’s remains are discovered in a national park, Brennan and Booth hunt for his killer.” I hear this is a great show. I just wish Angel wasn’t flirting with a new woman.
- One Tree Hill (CW, 9pm): New episode. “Lucas tries to deal with being left at the altar.” He’ll find comfort in the arms of a young blonde thing later.
- Rules of Engagement (CBS, 9:30pm): New episode. “Adam and Jennifer go on a vacation with Jeff and Audrey, but first they have to endure a time share sales pitch.” What do I get if I endure the show?
- Medium (NBC, 10pm): “Kelly Preston guest stars as venture capitalist Meghan Doyle, who strikes up a professional and personal connection with Joe.” Anjelica Huston, Rosanna Arquette and now Kelly Preston. Is this the Lifetime channel?

Monday Ratings: Kansas Wins NCAA, Viewers
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Games, Kids, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, Sports, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, Dancing With The Stars, House, Medium, The Bachelor, Ratings,
Last night’s NCAA final gave CBS just enough oomph to push past ABC in both the viewers and the demos.
8pm
- Dancing with the Stars (20 million, 4.8/13 in 18-49) was the night’s most-watched program.
- The Big Bang Theory* (10.2 million, 3.6/11) was down 1.5 million; Two and a Half Men* (12.4 million, 4.4/12) was off by slightly more.
- House* (7.2 million, 2.5/7) frustrated 300,000 less than last week.
- Both My Dad is Better than Your Dad (4.5 million, 1.3/4) and Gossip Girl* (1.2 million, 0.5/1) were both up 100,000 since last Monday.

MONDAY (4/7)
- Today (NBC, 10am): Kathie Lee Gifford returns to morning TV this week. And I thought the New Kids were getting old.
- Samantha Who? (ABC, 9:30pm): New episode. “Samantha has to move back into the apartment when she learns that she could be evicted for subletting it to Todd.” The girlfriend you hate gets amnesia and you get to keep her apartment. Todd has seriously been getting off easy so far.
- The Bachelor (ABC, 10pm): “It’s an afternoon of tennis and tea for six of the ladies.” I’ve seen what an afternoon of women’s tennis can look like on The Real Housewives of NYC. This won’t end pretty.
- Medium (NBC, 10pm): “Rosanna Arquette stars as an older seductress linked to the brutal murders of two younger men.” Maybe it’s best her relationship with Paul McCartney fizzled out.
