Monday Ratings: Rosy Evening for ABC
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, 24, Heroes, Medium, The Bachelor, Ratings,
Jason Mesnick’s shocking reveal might not have done much for his reputation, but it did plenty for ABC. Yesterday’s Bachelor episode saw its largest audience since 2003 (when Bob Guiney picked Estella Gardinier). The finale - coupled with the post-show special - also led ABC to an easy win last night.
8pm
- The Bachelor (5.4/13 in 18-49) was up 4.5 million from last week.
- A two-hour 24 event (3.3/8) averaged 11.1 million.
- The Big Bang Theory (3.9/10) returned to 10.9 million; How I Met Your Mother (4.2/10) rounded up 11.1 million.
- Chuck (6.6 million, 2.4/6) did about the same.
- Gossip Girl* (1.1 million, 0.5/1) remained steady.

Monday Ratings: Heroes Can’t Rescue NBC
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, 24, Heroes, House, Medium, Ratings,
CBS’ repeat-filled lineup gave NBC a chance to pick up some ground yesterday. Unfortunately, the Peacock squandered its opportunity and sunk even further last night. FOX, in the meantime, seized the evening and placed first in both the viewers and the demos.
8pm
- House (14.6 million, 5.4/14 in 18-49) picked up 600,000.
- The Bachelor special (11 million, 3.7/9) was off 1.5 million from the last regular episode.
- The Big Bang Theory* (8.4 million, 2.7/7)* lost 400,000; How I Met Your Mother* (7.6 million, 2.8/7) grew by 300,000.
- Chuck (6.5 million, 2.2/6) had its smallest audience yet.
- Gossip Girl* (1.1 million, 0.4/1) did about the same.

- The Bachelor (12.5 million, 4.4/10) picked up 900,000.
- The Big Bang Theory* (3.0/8) turned in 8.8 million; How I Met Your Mother* (2.6/6) registered 7.3 million.
- Chuck (6.8 million, 2.2/5) was down 1.6 million from its last episode.

Monday Ratings: Obama Rules Over Primetime
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, Specials, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, 24, Heroes, Medium, Ratings,
As depressing as economy talk might be, President Obama had people listening. Last night’s news conference raked in approximately 49.5 million over eight networks. While it was clearly the biggest event of the evening, the presidential presser paled in comparison to Bill Clinton’s first newser in February 1993. (That primetime event drew in 64.3 million.) Although its news coverage came in second, CBS ended up winning the night in both categories.
8pm
- ABC‘s coverage of the Obama presser (3.1/8 in 18-49) pulled in 11.49 million.
- Approximately 9.78 million watched the conference on CBS (3.0/8).
- NBC had 9.75 million (3.1/8) listening about the economy.
- FOX attracted 5.9 million (2.2/6) for the newser.
- Gossip Girl* (1.7 million, 0.8/2) was down 600,000.

Monday Ratings: NBC Improves, But Not By Much
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, 24, Heroes, Medium, Ratings,
Sunday’s commercials may have paid off financially for NBC, but they didn’t help much with the ratings. Despite endless ads for Monday’s programs, the lineup only showed marginal improvement. By night’s end, CBS was on top with the viewers while FOX was first place in the demos.
8pm
- House (14.8 million, 5.5/13 in 18-49) had Monday’s best demos.
- The Bachelor (11 million, 4.1/10) wooed another 400,000.
- The Big Bang Theory (10.8 million, 4.1/10) added on 1.5 million; How I Met Your Mother (10.3 million, 4.2/10) scooped up 2.2 million.
- Chuck (8.4 million, 3.0/7) had its largest audience all season.
- Gossip Girl (2.3 million, 1.1/3) was up 700,000.

- Chuck (NBC, 8pm): “In a 3-D edition, global rock star Tyler Martin (Dominic Monaghan) is marked for murder, so the agents kidnap the musician to discover who’s behind the deadly plot.” Unfortunately, they don’t understand his “My-plane-crashed-on-an-island-and-there-were-these-Others” story either.
- Heroes (NBC, 9pm): “The newly powerless Hiro resolves to help Ando become a true superhero.” Sorry, Suresh. You’re stuck with creating powers for yourself.
- Medium (NBC, 10pm): Season premiere. “Daughter Bridgette lands in trouble at school for drawing nude pictures of her art teacher.” She earned an “A” for technique, but an “F” for accuracy.

Here’s a quick look at some of the casting announcements made recently:
CSI: Miami: No matter what you think of Diddy, you can’t deny the mans’ diversity. Who else could front several reality shows, star in A Raisin in the Sun and take on David Caruso? According to Entertainment Tonight, the mogul is scheduled to air in two episodes of the CBS drama next year. He will play a federal prosecutor (yeah, I know) who has a personal and professional beef with Horatio’s team.
