Even worse, she was driving with a suspended license. Worse still? They found cocaine in her car. Of course, Lindsay says she’s innocent:

Lindsay Lohan’s Night Out

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Talent, Gossip, News,

Lindsay Lohan , who has a new movie coming out this summer, was arrested several hours ago in Santa Monica. The 21-year-old actress was recently released from rehab, but she was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and possible possession of cocaine, though this is unconfirmed. Allegedly, Lindsay was involved in a car chase with the mother of an assistant and refused a sobriety test at the scene of her arrest, on Main Street. Lohan has been booked on two counts of misdemeanor and two felonies (transportation and possession). Lohan was released early this morning after posting a twenty-five thousand dollar bond. There were no passengers in Lohan’s vehicle. This arrest comes on the heels of a DUI charge in Beverly Hills, where Lindsay reportedly turned herself in for Memorial Day events involving a hit-and-run.

Lindsay Lohan Arrested For Drugs And Alcohol AGAIN

Lindsay Lohan

Wow.  WOW.  Who would have thought that Paris’ troubles could seem like a thing of the past??

has graciously stepped up to the plate and ripped the troubled celebrity crown off the socialite’s head.  After having recently finished her stint in rehab…after having voluntarily turned herself into police for her old Memorial Day weekend crash….after having sported an alcohol-monitoring bracelet for the past few days….Lindsay somehow managed to get in trouble again!!!  Someone give that girl a statuette—because she definitely deserves an award.

Ms. Lohan was arrested THIS MORNING after driving in the Santa Monica area.  TMZ reports that she blew

a field sobriety

an in-station alcohol test (her results were approximately .12) and was also driving with a suspended license.  Cocaine - surprise! - was later found in her pocket.

More details will obviously be coming throughout the day.  Meanwhile, I will work on creating the Razzie award equivalent for simple celebrity idiocy.  Feel free to suggest any award name suggestions my way.

Save The Internet Campaign: You Have 5 More Days To Act

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Announcements, Internet,

We know that just about everyone reading Gear Live loves the Internet - either that, or they happened upon us by typoing their true destination, Dear Love. However, if you are one of those who has enjoyed the Internet for what it is, and don’t want to see it take an immense step back here in the USA, you have five days to let congress know that. Luckily, Save The Internet makes it super easy to do - all you do is fill out a form, and they make sure it gets to where it needs to go. This is crunch time in the battle for Net Neutrality.

Net Neutrality is essential to free speech, equal opportunity and economic innovation in America. Since the FCC removed this basic protection in 2005, the top executives of phone and cable companies have stated their intention to become the Internet’s gatekeepers and to discriminate against Web sites that don’t pay their added tolls.

This fundamental change would end the open Internet as we know it. It would damage my ability to connect with others, share information and participate in our 21st century democracy and economy. The FCC must ensure that broadband providers do not block, interfere with or discriminate against any lawful Internet traffic based on its ownership, source or destination.

MADD Not Quite Ready to Work with Paris

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Gossip,

Paris Hilton may have spoken out of turn when she talked about her desires to work with Mothers Against Drunk Driving during a Larry King interview on CNN last week. The organization that united against alcohol abuse may not want Miss Hilton on their team. MADD spokeswoman Misty Moyse said the non-profit group still has doubts about Paris’s behavior, and further said no one involved with Hilton has made any attempt to contact MADD about her desired involvement. MADD was founded in 1980 by the mother of a 13-year-old killed by a repeat-offender drunk driver, and had worked with a bevy of celebs in the past.

Alec Baldwin’s Insane Ireland Phone Call

Daddy Dearest Dealing with an ex is never fun. Dealing with an ex when you’re both in a media limelight…well, that’s fun for the rest of us. Years after calling it quits, Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger are going toe-to-toe in court again. The drama erupted April 11, 2007, when Baldwin reportedly called his eleven-year-old daughter, Ireland, per previously scheduled appointment. And now we’re going to take a break from the story to ponder this: Alec Baldwin feels the need to schedule calls he makes to his eleven-year-old daughter’s cell phone. Hmmm. Allegedly, Ireland missed the appointed call and Baldwin was stuck with voice mail. How annoying! So, Baldwin left a voice mail message. Nothing wrong with that…unless that particular voice mail message is filled with swearing, heated words, and ends on a somewhat threatening note – and, of course, you’re addressing a child. A judge revoked Baldwin’s visitation rights after hearing the message, which was “mysteriously” leaked to TMZ.com. Everyone goes to court May 4, 2007, to determine if Baldwin is fit to continue his visitation rights. Alec Baldwin’s rep has already issue a contrite statement to Extra in an attempt to do some damage control.

Vonage Can’t Get Around Verizon Patent - What Now?

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Broadband, Corporate News, Internet,

Vonage ScrewedSo, it looks like things are going from bad to worse for phone company Vonage. Last week, a judge ruled in favor of Verizon citing that Vonage was infringing upon Verizon’s patented Internet phone technology, which lays out methods for getting calls to go between the Internet and conventional phone networks. The ruling was that Vonage was banned from signing up new customers, while existing customers were unaffected. Vonage asked for, and received, an emergency stay which allows them to conduct business as usual for the time being. They went so far as to tell investors not to worry, because a “workaround” was currently under development.

Unfortunately, today Vonage has changed their tune, and they are now saying that they have no workaround that would moot the need for a stay. Uh oh. We don’t know how much longer Vonage will be around in it’s current form, but for a company that loses 2.5% of it’s customers per month, if they can’t bring in new customers to replace lost ones, it’s fairly obvious what will happen.

Winnie The Pooh Lawsuit Rages On

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Kids, Gossip, News,

DisneyCuddly toys, DVDs, story books, blankets, towels, clothing…well, the list goes on and on when it’s time to consider Pooh Bear merchandise. The honey-crazy bear has lit up TV screens and movie marquees for years and years, but it’s his court battle that’s grabbing all the headlines now. Would you have the courage to sue Winnie the Pooh? The Slesinger family does, and has battled the Disney Company for several years for rights to Pooh-related royalties. The family claims that Disney violated copyright and trademark agreements, among other disputes, and seeks up to two billion dollars in back royalties as compensation for Disney’s oversight. That could certainly buy a whole lot of honey, which thankfully never, ever spoils. The battle has raged since 1991, when Stephen Slesinger, Inc. filed a lawsuit against the company concerning Winnie’s merchandised assets. Disney is maneuvering to cancel and delay talks, creating even more drama around the case, and the Slesingers are publicly upset. Reportedly, Disney grosses six billion dollars a year from Pooh Bear and all his related merchandise.

Whitney Houston Wins Custody of Bobbi Christina

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Reality, Gossip, News,

Whitney and Bobby An Orange County judge ruled in favor of 43-year-old Whitney Houston this week in the custody battle between her and estranged hubby Bobby Brown (38). The couple’s only offspring, fourteen-year-old Bobbi Christina will stay with her mother, who was reportedly visibly upset and in tears during the hearing. A prenuptial agreement left all financial matters neatly settled between the pair, giving them nothing to fight about but their one shared asset: their child. Now, even that is all said and done, and the couple will officially be free of each other on April 24, 2007. For now, Houston will hold sole custody of young Bobbi. The only other choice for childcare was Bobby Brown. Don’t blame the judge…a choice had to be made.
