Sharp Releases Softbank Phone

Sharp has unveiled its Softbank 922SH smartphone. It features a full QWERTY keyboard, a 3.5-inch display with VGA res and a 2,000:1 contrast ratio, an external 1.2-inch OLED display, a business card scanner, and a microSD card slot. Shipping today in Japan, it also does e-mail and surfs with a 3G connection. Contact Sharp if you are impressed enough to want to be one of the first to get a Softbank.

South Park Episodes Available On Own Site

Tired of piecing together videos of South Park from YouTube? Well, the creators of the show are too.

To alleviate all the wasted time spent searching, Trey Parker and Matt Stone are offering fans of the show an easier way to keep up with the series. They are now making every single episode of the program available on one site. And for free! In a joint statement, the duo said: “We got really sick of having to download our own show illegally all the time, so we gave ourselves a legal alternative.”

Although the shows are currently running ad free, expect that to change sometime in the near future. Current episodes can also be found on the site though they will experience a short blackout period.

The site (which can be found here) has already had seen several million visitors since debuting last week.

LG Touch Web Phone Unveiled

It seems that everyone is trying to compete with the big Apple. Korean company LG has released its LG-LH2300 Touch Web Phone. It features a 3-inch touchscreen LCD (800 x 480) with a WVGA res. It has a 3 megapixel camera with auto-focus, Internet browsing, a microSD memory card slot, and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity. With its hot key, jog wheel, and T-DMB, multi-media activities will be super-simple. The smartphone will cost ~$650.00 and become available sometime in early April.

Think you know what’s in your drink? We have found a short quiz that will see if you know your alcoholic stuff. The Booze Test gives you plenty of chances to rate your bar acumen. It will then let you know if you are a lightweight or an outright alcoholic. We were slightly surprised that we rated as high as we did, so don’t tell anybody. Does Lindsay Lohan Have a Sex Tape?

Lindsay Lohan, Calum best (UPDATE: Calum’s rep denied the sex tape rumors to Us Magazine. “Sorry to disappoint you, but it’s not Calum in the tape.” But is it Lindsay??)

It looks like DUIs have become so 5 minutes ago. Sex tapes are now the latest trend in Hollywood.

Just a few days ago, rumors of a possible Kristin Davis sex tape ran wild across the internet. Now a video involving our favorite girl, Lindsay Lohan, may be coming to light.

According to The Sun, there is a supposedly a clip being spread online of Lindsay during her time with British TV personality Calum Best. (The two dated last year before her stint in rehab.) Supposedly the clip of Lohan ‘performing an act’ was taken with Calum’s cell phone. A snippet of that video was shared with friends; a possible extended version may be leaked later.

Needless to say, Linds is reportedly freaked out by the matter. She apparently didn’t know that she was being filmed. (Maybe that’s why she went into rehab?) Just last year, she was telling People that her new boyfriend was “a nice guy.” Methinks she’ll be retracting that statement soon.

You Tubed, Now You Vote

Chris Crocker Voting polls will be closed in two days for the Tubies, an award event which honors the best YouTube videos. Twelve categories which run the gamut of the genre (everything from Series to Instructional) encompass such popular nominees as the “Leave Britney Alone” guy and “I Got a Crush…on Obama.” Anyone can vote on the best YouTube videos from 2007 and then watch the results, of course, on YouTube. This will be the second annual Tubies event.

Hulu Opens With Limited Ad Viewing

Hulu, from the collaborative efforts of News Corp. and NBC Universal, opened today. So far it has only been in use by a test group, but now everyone can see more than 259 full length episodes of TV shows as well as about 100 movies for free from 50 networks, movie studios and Web-based media. The only catch is that there is a limited amount of ads to put up with, but hey, we can deal with that.

During a movie or show you often get your choice of commercials. We watched an episode of “The Simpsons” to see how much advertising there was, and in the half hour we saw only three 15 second spots. We will take that over network TV anytime. Did we mention that you can share, embed, or edit clips from the site? We love the Internet, truly.

Sony Unveils Second Generation mylo

If you missed out on the first one, Sony is releasing its second gen mylo. You can use it to catch up on e-mail, take shots or view pics and/or 320 x 240 pixel videos, use it for Skype, and of course to let everyone know that you have one. With an 800 x 480 pixel resolution, it features a touchscreen, Internet surfing with Wifi, and has USB connectivity. Contact Sony to find out pricing and availability on their latest handheld.

Denver Airport Censors WiFi Service

If you plan on traveling to Denver International Airport, expect free, but censored WiFi service. Spokesperson Chuck Cannon explained that officials considered some sites to be “potentially racy.” These include the Vanity Fair site and boingboing. He says they would rather have a few upset parents than their kids’ access to Websites that may contain what they consider borderline porn. The service, which was instigated in November, seems to be utilizing the same tech that is used in Sudan and Kuwait to keep their countrymen/women in line. Those that giveth sometimes also taketh away.
