Only open for a couple of months, Crispy Gamer claims that it has over 35,000 members. It certainly proves that of all the failing industries, this one certainly isn’t. The site gets its content from gaming writers, as opposed to ads and other info from publishers. In addition to extensive reviews, the site features news, forums for gamers and video clips. Head over there and toss in your two cents worth on your favorite game or research one that you would like to try.

Toshiba Qosmio Laptop We found the ultimate gaming laptops for the hardcore player. Toshiba’s Qosmio X305-Q706 and X305-Q708 are filled with three NVIDIA GPUs, one GeForce 9400M and two 9800M GTSs. To help save energy and battery power, the user can turn off the 9800Ms. Both have 17-inch displays, Bluetooth availability and Harman Kardon stereo speakers plus a sub-woofer. The X305-706 features a Core 2 Duo P8400 CPU and comes at a price of $1,999.99. Move up to the X305-Q708 and you get a Core 2 Extreme QX9300 CPU, a DVD burner, a 1.3MP webcam, and a second 128GB SSD at a price of $4,199.99. Both are available at Toshiba Direct.

Gears of War 2 Limited Edition Zune unboxing gallery

With Gears of War 2 getting ready to drop tomorrow, bringing Submergence Day to all fans of the franchise, Microsoft is also releasing a Gears of War 2 Limited Edition Zune. You might remember that they did something similar with the original Zune to coincide with the release of Halo 3. With the GOW2 Zune, Microsoft has pre-loaded a bunch of Gears content on the device itself. A bunch of images of art, the entire Gears of War soundtrack, along with quite a few pieces of video content related to both Gears of War and Gears of War 2.

We were able to get our hands on the Gears of War 2 Zune before its release, and have snapped a bunch of photos showing off the fantastic box art, the Zune device itself, and all the bonus content included on the device. Be sure and check it all out in our Gears of War 2 Zune unboxing gallery.

Logitech Wireless Vantage Microphone

Logitech has announced that they have upped their Vantage Microphone (shown here) to make it cordless. They claim 20 hours of battery life, a range of up to 30 feet, and 2.4 GHz technology in its USB receiver that doubles as a mic stand. The device is compatible with Playstation 2 and 3, and Xbox 360. At a price of $79.99, the Vantage should make a December appearance in the U.S. and Europe.

Garriott Heads into The Final Frontier

Gaming magnate Richard Garriott made a successful launch into space and becomes the first 2nd generation astronaut. His father, Owen, watched as his son, U.S. astronaut Michael Fincke and Russian cosmonaut Yury Lonchakov boarded the Russian Soyuz TMA-13 spacecraft and took off. Garriott paid $35 million for the privilege of 10 days of galactic fun aboard the Space Station. His projects include blowing bubbles in space to show its effects when done in zero-gravity. Another is to photograph Earth and compare his pictures with those his father took from Skylab in 1973.

InstantAction Offers Mac Games Online

InstantAction has announced the debut of their open beta for Mac OS X users. Gamers can register on the site and play Rokkitball, Marble Blast Online, Think Tanks and the FPS, Fallen Empire: Legions. Mac owners can also play PC users with cross platform compatibility. System requirements are Mac OS X 10.4.11 (or later) with Intel chipsets for some of the games, while others need Mac OS X v10.5.4. Safari 3 and Firefox 2 are supported. Check with the site for more specifics.

J!NX T-Shirts

Pacman Design J!NX is a very cool site with t-shirts for the geek who wants to be blunt. We especially dig this comment on Pacman in the form of a light blue tee that comes in 5 sizes for ~$20.00. If that one is too gory for you, check through their newest releases for both men and women for all things gaming and computer oriented. JINX frequently has deals on close-outs and discontinued shirts and stickers.

Nintendo Promises Wii Availability For Holidays

Wii Nintendo says that there should be more Wii consoles available for this holiday season in the U.S. They also say that more Nintendo DS handhelds will be available.

Nintendo’s exec. vice president of sales and marketing Cammie Dunaway said, “While there’s no way to gauge total demand for our hardware systems, we’re trying to satisfy as many of those players as possible.”

We shall see. With the economy the way it is, we expect Nintendo will want to get as many consoles out there as they can.

HP HDX 18t 18-inch monster notebook now available

HP has finally gotten around to getting their monstrous 18-inch HDX powerhouse ready for shipping. You can head over to their online store now to start configuring these bad boys. As a refresher, this is an 18-inch entertainment beast, with a full HD display and amazing HP Imprint finish. Prices start at $1,549.99 (which, actually, isn’t that bad for an 18-inch notebook with this much power), but if you pimp this thing out, it’ll easily go over two grand. Gameloft to Develop Android Games

Gameloft has announced that they plan on developing 10+ games for Android. The first to be developed will be Bubble Bash and will launch in Q1 2009. They are planning on the rest for later on that year. Michel Guillemot, Gameloft’s pres and CEO said,

“The momentum and excitement for the Android has been building for some time,” said Michel Guillemot, president and CEO of Gameloft. “We plan to fully support this platform since it provides another great outlet for an enhanced gaming experience for consumers.”

We will get excited when they come up with a mobile game that has a little more momentum.
