Nike isn't the first company to think of using a wristband or other device to monitor your fitness and better improve your life, having been beaten them to the punch by the FitBit and Jawbone UP. But still, what Nike brings to the table with its new FuelBand wristband is extraordinary. The Nike+ FuelBand actually displays how well you are doing throughout the day not only on your phone or other Bluetooth device, but also on the band itself.
The band on its own has a very sleek design with a 20 LED color dot-matrix display that shows how many “Points” you have earned during your workout, and another 100 white LEDs to give you feedback, time of day, and the like. The idea behind this is that the next time you work out you try to equal or get a higher score than before, pushing yourself to work out more and therefore become more physically fit. The activity wristband market is small but growing, and from what we can tell the Nike+ FuelBand may be the best bang for your buck. You can pre-order one now for $149.

Mercedes-Benz introduces DICE concept for in-vehicle gesture controls

By now you're all familiar with Kinect for Xbox 360. Kinect allows users to interact with the video game using hand and body gestures, as well as through voice commands. Though it’s still a relatively new concept, the same technology is slowly migrating into vehicles.
Mercedes-Benz debuted its gesture controls, known as Dynamic and Intuitive Control Experience or DICE, at CES 2012. DICE functions by using proximity sensors located within the interior of a vehicle, allowing the user to scroll and select a variety of functions. A highlight of DICE is the ability to select locations on the map instead of searching for them by name. DICE also always users to connect with friends, find information on local business around you, read text messages and control all your basic functions from car temperature to rocking beats.
The main issue with the system, as seen in the video, is the location of the driver. Though there are proximity sensors in the car, there is no set location of where the driver needs to be; often this creates issues for the system recognizing your gesture. Furthermore, there is an issue with safety. Driving is not a controlled environment—yet. There are too many ‘eyes on the road’ scenarios using DICE, often distracting drivers from focusing on the task at hand. Though this is only a concept idea, Mercedes-Benz says it’ll be another 20 years before the production version hits the streets, giving Mercedes-Benz plenty of time to work out the kinks.

Apple One is an employment agency and as such - at least in the era of the internets - they’re being cagey about one of their more interesting job offerings.They’re representing a “large entertainment client” who needs an “experienced editor, specifically for children’s magazines.”
There aren’t many company’s who meet that description - Disney (their Consumer Products division) is certainly one, and Time Warner to a certain degree (but I checked the Time Warner website and nothing similar to this job pops). Marvel doesn’t have it listed.
But the contact info at Apple One lists the local office in Glendale, California, which is right next to Burbank. So, go play detective and see what you find.

Cartoon Network, the home of Adventure Time, Ben 10, and Scooby Doo, is looking for some helping for the Spring.
It’s all part of their Spring 2012 Intern Program. It’s 12 weeks, 15-20 hours per week. No money, and course credit is optional (it helps if you’re somehow majoring in Animation or a related field).
You’ll be doing all the usual (and occasionally horrible) intern tasks, but you’ll be jumping into the deep end of the animation pool. Cartoon Network’s Internship Program “exposes students to a variety of duties and provides valuable knowledge of the industry. Students may have the opportunity to learn and observe a number of functions within the production department. They will be exposed to all aspects of a traditionally animated series.

In this episode ee give you a look at the Nikon D4 in this episode, the camera that Nikon is calling its next flagship model. We got up close and personal with the Nikon D4 at CES 2012, and got to speak with Nikon's Steve Heiner about the 16.2 megapixel beast of a DSLR. The D4 is constructed out of magnesium alloy, and has a thermal shield under the paint to keep the camera safe in the most extreme conditions. If fast shooting is your game, this thing can take up to 10 shots per second with full AE/AF performance. Of course, it also shoots 1080p video with stereo sound. The Nikon D4 will sell for $5,999.95 when it goes on sale.

The Toyota Prius has become an icon in the hybrid world. From celebrities praising the second generation Prius, to Toyota growing a single car into a family of vehicles, the Prius has come a long way. Though, for some, it hasn’t come far enough. The Japanese conversion company Campinn has decided to take the Prius down the Frankenstein route.
The Prius Camper debuted at the Tokyo Auto Salon, consisting of one part Toyota Prius hatchback and one part truck camper. Made of fiber-reinforced plastic that extends the car’s length to 196 inches and its height to about 82 inches, it makes the Prius look as if it has a cancerous lump growing on it. The interior amenities are limited to a skylight, a sleeping area up top, and a convertible sofa bed on the bottom. Though I’m not sure how useful and versatile this thing is, people will now have the option of camping in a hybrid. However, the most convenient feature of the Prius camper is its back door, allowing the owner an escape while people laugh at the monstrosity.

Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition trailer and details

With Fallout: New Vegas having been out for almost a year and a half, some had wondered when we were going to see a Game of the Year edition. Well, seeing as that New Vegas did not receive a GOTY award (doesn't mean it wasn't awesome - see our Fallout: New Vegas review,) Bethesda did the next best thing and has announced the Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition.
The game is the same as always, but now you get all the DLC included with the purchase. That includes Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road. You also get unique weapons, ammo types, and recipes from the latest Courier's Stash and Gun Runners Arsenal add-on packs. Now dust off your Pipboys, grab some Nuka Cola, and sit down with the official Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition release trailer, above. The game hits stores on February 7th in North America, and February 10th throughout Europe.
