The V2 DJ System, at a size of 164 × 69.6 × 22.8mm and weight of 200g, has 60GB of built-in memory and supports MP3, AAC, WMA, OGG, FLAC, WAV and SND files. The device has a new interface that makes blending tracks and crossfading simpler, and you can save your work for later upload. A display tells you when are out of sync with the beat, although if that happens often, it may be time to find another line of work/hobby. The Pacemaker V2 comes with desktop editor software and is available for $499.99.

Denon DP-200USB Turntable

Here is a possible solution to turning your vinyl into MP3 files. With the Denon DP-200USB Turntable, you place a thumb drive into the front USB port, press “record,” and it operates automatically with no PC. There is also an option to transfer directly to MP3 player. Afterwords, the Trans Music Manager software allows split tracking and Gracenote access to retrieve album information. Manual operation is an option and of course the device can be used as a turntable. The DP-200USB is priced at $249.99 with free shipping.

Creative Japan has announced their latest Zen player. The MX 100/200 is available in either 8 or 16GB. It combines a DAP and MP3 player with a 2.5-inch LCD display screen. At a size of 83.2 x 55 x 11.9mm and a weight of 66g, it is compatible with WMV and DivX video files, and MP3, WMA and AAC audio files. Look for the debut of the Zen MX in May.

Still rocking the vinyls? Is your iPod lacking in content because of it? Denon has the hookup for you. The DP-200USB turntable doesn’t just spin your records, but also rips them to the integrated USB drive. The accompanying software (this one is XP/Vista only for now, unfortunately) features Auto Track Divide, which recognizes silence between songs and will insert a new track tab for each track, and Audio Waveform Recognition, which will analyze a track’s first 15 seconds and search Gracenote for you. Stylistically, this unit looks like something straight out of my own rec room at my parents’ house. It’s available for $250.

Since you are already buying Blu-ray discs for your home, maybe it is time to upgrade to Panasonic’s car entertainment system. Install the CN-HX900D dash-mountable device with its CD/DVD player, 40GB Windows hard drive, GPS, and Bluetooth and iPod/iPhone compatibility. Add to that a 7-inch 1280x720 display. Then you need a CYBB1000D for the kidlets in the back. Look for it to come out in the fall. No price has been released as yet, but we figure this one is going to cost a bit.
