If you draw anything like we do, attempting to put the pencil to paper to form a circle usually turns out in some sort of watermelon-shaped disaster. Until now. The video below offers a piece of advice that should allow anyone with at least two fingers to draw a perfect circle. It's actually pretty ingenius, really. You simply use one finger as the center point, and place the pencil on the paper similar to a compass. From there, you just rotate the page itself, rather than having to move your hand. Check the video to see how it's done.

Hands-on video shows off rumored next iPhone design and metal casing
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Apple, Smartphones, Design, Handhelds, Rumors, Videos,

Video footage of the purported next-generation iPhone has surfaced today, courtesy of ETrade Supply, a reseller of parts. The video appears to confirm the new iPhone images we posted a couple of weeks ago, showing the two-tone rear metal casing of the next Apple smartphone, as well as a taller profile with larger display. Other changes that seem to be confirmed include the move of the headphone jack from the top of the device to the bottom, larger speakers, and a much smaller dock port. We also see that the SIM card tray in the new model is a bit smaller that the ones Apple has used in the past.

Meet the new Google Maps: 3D, offline maps, more StreetView
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Smartphones, Corporate News, Google, Software, Videos,

Google has announced a few nice updates to Google Maps that will be rolling out soon. For starters, expect offline maps to come to mobile Android and iOS devices. You'll be able to look up a map area in advance and select it to be made available offline. Maps will then indicate how much space it will take up on your device, and will download the content with your approval.
The second major feature is greatly-improved 3D maps. Thanks to planes shooting images at a 45 degree angle and from directly above, Google used stereophotogrammetry to combine the images to create 3D scenes. Google was able to demo this on an internal version of Google Earth for iPad, showing off the city of San Francisco in 3D.

4-inch iPhone display leaked on video?
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Apple, Smartphones, Rumors, Videos,

It looks like the leaks regarding the new iPhone just keep on coming! Today we've got a video that purportedly shows off the front glass of the device, showing that it's indeed taller than that of the iPhone 4S (and every other iPhone before it.) The glass has space for a 4.07-inch display, and maintains the same width and home button. Also similar to previous leaks, the FaceTime camera has been moved to be centered above the earpiece. It's looking more and more like we'll be seeing a larger screen on the next iPhone.

Chevy Volt owner has gone 4,000 miles between fill-ups
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Transportation, Videos,

See that guy up there? His name is Noble, and the last time he filled up his gas tank was 4,000 miles ago. How can that be? He drives a Chevy Volt, which he calls "the best vehicle he's ever driven." A fully charged Volt can drive for about 35-40 miles before switching over to a gas-powered electric engine (similar to a hybrid vehicle.) So if you rarely (or never) run out of electric power, you'll never touch the gas in the tank. Check out the video below for more from Noble himself.

YouTube celebrates 7th birthday, users uploading 72 hours of video each minute
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Corporate News, Google, Videos,

YouTube is celebrating its seventh birthday, and as such, has revealed a fairly mindblowing statistic: YouTube users now upload 72 hours of video content to the site every minute. A year ago, that figure was "just" 48 hours every sixty seconds. Other interesting tidbits of note include the fact that 800,000,000 YouTube viewers watch over 3 billion hours of video each month, which equates to roughly 15 minutes per viewer. The site is, if you haven't noticed, a freaking juggernaut. Check the video after the break that celebrates seven years of YouTube, and feel free to leave your favorite YouTube videos in the comments.
