Sony Quantum of Solace Flash Drive

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Accessories, USB, Movies, PC / Laptop, Storage,
We told you about the Quantum of Solace Laptop last month, but if that is too extreme for your budget and you want something to remember 007, how about the USB flash drive? The limited edition 8GB Micro Vault Click Drive has a hidden USB connector and includes a virtual expander to store 3 times the data. There is the nifty logo on the side and the device comes pre-loaded with a movie trailer, behind the scenes footage and images. We guess that that there may not have been enough initial interest, as the price has dropped from $49.99 to $29.99.

Thanko Keyboard Gives Warm Hands While Typing

Posted by Aaron Zollo Categories: Accessories, USB, Peripherals,

Thanko has previously released a keyboard to keep our arms and hands cool while typing. They now have a new keyboard which can warm our extremities via USB. The new keyboard is prepared for warm and cool weather in that it incorporates three fans which can cool, but also can provide some toasty heat as well. The keyboard is currently in Japan and if you need to have this keyboard for yourself, you’ll need to find a decent importer as there is no mention of it going on sale in the U.S. any time soon.

New Xbox Live Hard Drive Pack Shipping on Nov. 4th

Posted by Ponzi Black Categories: Accessories, Microsoft, Storage, Video Games,

A new Xbox Live pack is coming to the US next week on November 4th. The pack is mainly for those who don’t yet have a hard drive on their Xbox 360, but is a decent upgrade if you have the original 20GB hard drive, and are in need of more space. The $99 bundle includes a 60GB hard drive, Xbox Live headset, and 3-months of Xbox Live Gold. The upgrade comes just weeks before the new Xbox Live Experience dashboard upgrade on November 19th. The hard drive should allow much more storage if you plan to use the Netflix subscription service on your 360 and want to store all of your media which also debut’s on the 19th. There is also a $30 upgrade option for the 20GB hard drive being offered due to the New Xbox Experience requirements which will not work if you lack a hard drive.

Apple shipping iPhone USB power adapter in huge box

Posted by Aaron Zollo Categories: Accessories, USB, Apple, Peripherals,
Apple has had a a mind for all things “green” as stated in their past two keynotes. A few weeks back, Apple recalled the iPhone power adapters because the prongs were breaking off into the wall socket, which could cause an obvious jolt of unpleasant experiences. Apple offered two ways to replace the USB adapter, by mail or by going to their stores. The people who chose to have it sent by mail have been surpised to find that the new, greener Apple has shipped the small adapter in a box that about 100 times its size. I am sure Apple will take notice and do something about it, but it seems all the eggs are not in the basket when it comes to their “green initiative.” This just proves that going “green” takes time, and within a large company such as Apple it will continue to take months—or years—for them to achieve their goals. If you have an iPhone and live close to an Apple store, you can do your part by exchanging it yourself. If you are out of range of an Apple store and have done the exchange, let us know if you have had the same “large box” experience.

Wearable USB flash drives are more commonplace every day, but it’s not often that they actually come in such a unique style. What could be better than the Skull Drive that comes in 8 colors? It has 2GB storage and a designer price of $145.00. Too pricey? Wait for the Lisco USB Snake Bracelet to become more than a prototype. Made of polyurethane, the retro device snaps on your wrist, ankle, backpack, etc.
