TMX Elmo

Toys ‘R Us has announced that it will be receiving 13,000+ PS3s, 6,000+ Wiis and accessories, and 65,000+ TMX Elmos for these last days of holiday shopping. They also promise more items in demand such as GameBoy Advance and Fisher Price digital cameras. Not to be found online, you will have to hotfoot it to your nearest location to see if they are keeping to their word. Rather than participate in the possibly physical conflict over trying to grab the last Elmo from another customer, we think we will just watch the demo of the hysterical red creature again and wonder what the fuss is all about.

Wii Remote Replacement Strap

In an honorable, if not necessary, move, Nintendo has decided to replace the faulty Wii Remote straps that have been giving trouble to gamers aplenty since the launch of Nintendo’s latest home gaming console. As it seems, the reports of simply too many Wii Remote strap-related accidents was enough to get Nintendo’s attention. As you can see in the image provided, the new straps, while still thin, are about twice as thick as the original ones. The replacements are free as long as you submit your Wii console serial number, and you can order up to four straps.

MusicJam

Among the myriad of devices to buy your iPod for Christmas, think about the MusicJam, which will turn you into a smaller, but hipper DJ. You can mix or record, playback tracks or full songs, and utilize its echo effect. It even features an electric guitar input and free karaoke videos. Listen to the tunes through a headset or send them to your stereo or PA system via RCA jacks.

Included with your MusicJam are a mic, cables, a mic stand clamp, and an AC adapter. MusicJam is available online for $229.00 although the site cautions that demand is greater than supply because of the holidays.

This is an entry from our 2006 Holiday Gift Guide. Check it out for suggestions on what to buy your loved, liked, and hated ones this holiday season!

LinkTheatre

The Buffalo LinkTheater Wireless A/G Media Player is new in town, but looks to be a winner. The device allows you to stream just about any video or audio format you can think of from your PC to your home theater system. This new model even has a few optimization specifically targetted toward Intel Viiv PCs, so if you have one of those, it’s a plus (though it’s not required.) The device is even compatible with DRM movie downloads from the likes of CinemaNow and MovieLink. Definitely worth it if you store a bunch of multimedia content on your PC, and you want an easy way to get that to your HDTV.

Price: $249 (Compare Prices)
