Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Corporate News, Music,
Wow, it appears that our armed forces are in serious need of new recruits if they are resulting to this. Check it out - if you want 3 free iTunes downloads, simply agree to allow the National Guard to mail you some literature and to have a recruiter contact you so that they can tell you a bit about it. Whether they convince you into signing up or not is up to them, but you will walk away with $3 in music. Something about that just seems sad.

Okay, odd company name and scary lady aside, this is a pretty unique product. Simply put, vlaemsch( ) has taken a rubber galosh and cut handles into it. Seeing the new invention before them, they named it the Boot Bag, hoping that it would become a staple in women’s fashion the world over. We personally haven’t seen to many women walking around carrying rubber galoshes - or wearing them for that matter - but hey, maybe it’s because they haven’t realized there is more to this boot than meets the eye. Actually, maybe not. According to the company, “Simply by making a hole n a rubber boot, the boot becomes a most original bag.” Wow.

Google Enters Internet Broadcasting Market With “Everybody Hates Chris”
Posted by Devin Categories: Corporate News, Home Entertainment, Internet,
Pretty soon, anyone with a connection to the internet will have the ability to view their favorite American and British television shows from Google. The search engine giant, whose numerous other ventures include Gmail and Google Talk, has already penned a deal with UPN to broadcast some of it’s shows, and talks are now in the works with the BBC. Though users won’t be able to save the shows on their computer, they will have the ability to pause, rewind, and fast forward thru any of the content stored on Google’s servers. So what’s the first show to be offered up as Google makes it’s way into internet broadcasting? Chris Rock’s new show, “Everbody Hates Chris”.

Xbox, PS2, Gamecube All-in-One = Ultimate Gaming Mod

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Mods / Hacks, Video Games,

Okay, so about a year ago a friend of mine showed me some of the great work he was doing as far as modding game machines go. No, I am not talking about stealing software, but rather just really cool ways to take the gaming technology we love and do some cool things with it. So many out there spend a lot of time customizing their PC boxes with cold cathode, etching, colored fans, and the like - why not do it with our gaming devices? Well, I can’t think of a good reason not to either. Behold the ultimate gaming mod - an Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube all fit into one box with a flatscreen display built right in. Just by looking at the images, you can tell it took a hell of a lot of work - but it’s freaking cool. You rock, Bird.

PocketDish: Carry Around Your Dish Network Programming

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Home Entertainment, Portable Audio / Video,
EchoStar Communications, parent company of Dish Network, is attempting to be the latest to break in to the PVP market with the PocketDish. Basically, it’s a portable video player that can store TV programs along with music, games and photos. There are three versions with LCD displays of 2, 4 and 7 inches, and prices accordingly step from $329 to $499 to $599. The PocketDish goes on sale next month, but we are skeptical about how well this thing will be received. Check it - if you connect the PocketDish to a Dish Network receiver, you can transfer a full-length movie in under 10 minutes. Solid. However, if you are not a Dish Network customer, then the PocketDish is simply a recorder. This means that you can hook it up to your Comcast box, but there is no high speed transfer. It will take you an hour to transfer over that latest episode of Lost. I’ll pass.
