Self Lighting CigaretteIn an effort to make ruining your lungs an even easier affair, Israel company Gasham Enterprises has developed a cigarette that can be lit without a match, lighter, or any other type of portable flame. Instead, the tip of the cigarette has sulfur and phosphorus built right in. All you need to do is rub the cigarette against the side of the pack, and it ignites. You would think that a rough action like this would destroy the cigarette, crumbling it to pieces - but these cigarettes are reinforced with bamboo and tobacco leaf to stop them from breaking.

Personal Accelerator  Strap on this device and experience bruises never thought possible on Rollerblades.  It will increase your speed by up to 25 miles per hour, with its 1.5 horsepower engine.  You’ll need to keep both hands on the controls though, as one hand controls brakes, and the other speed.  The tire looks like it’s a little on the thick side, to allow for multiple terrains.  it can be yours for only $445.  Horrified spectators not included.

Super Bark StopEvery time I go down to visit my mom in South Jersey I get the living crap scared out of me.  That’s because the neighbor’s two dogs lunge up to their gate with the biggest roar of of a bark imaginable.  A little device like this one should help prevent any future heart-attacks on my part.  Essentially, it emits a high pitch that only dogs can hear whenever they start barking.  The thought here is that the dog will eventually learn that they should not bark, lest that want toey should hear that annoying sound. Won’t keep your house from being burglarized though.

DescriptionGiant Robot is basically a Japanese pop culture review. One of the major parts of this is the Giant Robot toys that are made. I think that pursuing these creations is almost like a visit to a museum. Each item just has a unique look and feel to them. Take the Eishi Takaoka Head for example. It is just an interesting piece of work. It stands at about 6 inches, half of which is the hand carved head. This one goes for $200 due to its uniqueness and delicacy, but you can find plenty of things that are far less expensive. Take a look, and let us know if something catches your eye.

Silent But Deadly? You just can’t seem to please everyone.  Make bikes too loud, and pedestrians complain about the noise.  Make them fuel-cell powered and super-quiet and people say they’re an accident hazard.  The new prototype bike, developed by British manufacturers Intelligent Energy, are said to make about as much noise as a PC.  In an even greater act of blasphemy, they are going to add a switch on the bike to allow artificially generated noise so that people will know when it’s approaching.  No, it’s not April first yet.

Okay, so what if you don’t want people to know you still use that Elmo nightlight in your room.  Now there’s a cooler way to keep some light around when you’re going to bed.  It’s an encased lightbulb that charges up during the day through solar power, then glows at night.  Kinda pricey at $45, but still a great idea.

Looks like thieves are going to have one thing less to steal.  A tree-like device already used in Geneva, will stow your bike away from the reach of ne’er-do-wells and varmints.  You simply attach your bike to a chain, swipe an electronic ID card, and the tree will lift your bike along the trunk to tuck it away, even protecting it from the rain.  The tree takes mininal foot space, and the whole gig is solar powered.  Awesome!

DescriptionIt looks like the technology used by police and fire officials that makes traffic lights turn green when they are approaching in the case of emergency. Government officials fear that these devices, which can cost as much as $1,000 USD (or $200 for cheap knockoffs), are starting to fall into the hands of your common civilian. There has been a rise in the sale of these devices on the Internet. While the sites claim that they sell them to make it easier for places like volunteer firefighting squads to acquire them, there is no prerequisite anyone needs to meet in order to purchase a traffic light changer. It is illegal for a civilian to use one of these devices, but officials are pushing to make it illegal to even have one in your possession.
