Marilyn Manson’s Music with Feeling

Marilyn Manson hopes people "feel something" when listening to his new album, Born Villain.
The rocker - notorious for his explicit lyrics and dark sound - admits the record has been a "challenge," but loved getting his teeth into a new project.
"If everything is happy, then who gives a s**t, or if it's just a straight line, I won't give a s**t either. If it's down, which is sometimes where I was more often than up, it's not inspiring. So I just wanted to make something that would make people feel something. I was playing it to people that were my friends. Some of them never heard my music before, never liked my music, whatever the situation was, but it's a challenge and I love a challenge. I had forgotten how much I love a challenge."
Marilyn, 43, admitted he went back to his old style of writing music compared to his last two albums, Eat Me, Drink Me, and The High End of Low.

Jack White Goes Gaga
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Gossip, Alternative, Rock,
Embrace yourself for the following, strange revelation: Jack White likes to pretend he’s Lady Gaga.
The singer, guitarist and drummer - who is most famous for his band The White Stripes - tried to think like the flamboyant “Telephone” singer when writing a track for his new album with The Dead Weather, Sea of Cowards.
“I was thinking of the type of song a contemporary musician would write, so I started thinking about Lady Gaga. I started thinking of how she would write the music to this song and got quite into being Lady Gaga in an odd way.”
Despite Jack’s foray into Lady Gaga musical territory, the rocker insists the group’s second album builds on the sound established on their debut, Horehound, which was released last year and was recorded quickly in order to capture the band’s energy. Jack - who is joined in the group by Alison Mosshart, Dean Fertita and Jack Lawrence - added, “Musically it’s a more powerful, more intense, deeper, bluesier, and heavier at all points. It’s such a fast progression from first to second album, and a totally different sound.”
