Lucky Actress Sarah Harding

Sarah Harding feels lucky to have been given the chance to act.

The Girls Aloud star, who plays the role of schoolgirl Roxy in St Trinian’s 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold, says she is living out her dream on the big screen. Speaking at the world premiere of the movie In London’s Leicester Square, Sarah said:

“I’m just enjoying every minute of it at the moment. I’m getting to live out my fantasies. I’ve lived out my dream doing the singing and I never thought I’d get into doing the acting side of it as well, which is amazing. I’m very honored and grateful that they are giving me a chance.”

The 28-year-old star, who braved the cold on a special pink carpet in a stunning cut-out dress, also denied there was any competition between Girls Aloud as each member focuses on individual projects. “We’ve all got very different tastes and I think if were to all do our own solo stuff it would be very different.”

Tom Ford Sees Beauty, Death

For fashion designer-turned-film director Tom Ford, beauty and death are best friends, especially when it comes to his directorial debut, A Single Man.

“Everything in life is bittersweet for me, because when I see something beautiful, I also see it aging, old, dead, gone. I was very aware of mortality. I was very aware of my time on the planet,” Ford said, describing his alluring/morbid fascination.

This connection translated into his film, which stars Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, and Matthew Goode: “Everyone keeps saying to me, ‘Everyone is so beautiful. Everything is so beautiful.’ I didn’t even notice that! That’s just the way I see. That’s the way I think.”

Could anyone expect anything less from a man who redesigned the Gucci house?

While Ford has an inherent ability for making things exquisite, he also assures his fans and movie-goers that the film has serious content and feeling:

“I want to make movies that I feel about. I’ve never been anybody who cared if they died in a plane crash or not. While I was working on A Single Man, it just killed me to think that somehow I might die before I could finish it.”

The film is due out in limited release this Friday, December 11.

Danny Dyer Fears Typecasting

Danny Dyer was asked to appear in a film called Cockneys vs. Zombies.

The London-born actor admits he tired of being offered the same type of roles - as a British hardman - and singled out the horror movie as the biggest low point he reached.

“I turned down a movie recently called Cockneys vs. Zombies. I thought ‘F**k me, for f**k’s sake’. That’s the final nail in the coffin for me. The fact they even had the front to use that title. I didn’t even turn the first page of the script.”

The Human Traffic star says rejecting the script was a relatively new thing for him because he used to accept anything he was offered out of a fear of rejection:

“So I’m learning, like I said, when you struggle as an actor for so long, and being an actor is about rejection, being told no all the time, so when you get on a run, and people start writing parts for you, you can get a bit carried away with that and say yes to everything. And I’ve had a bit of a spell of going, ‘Yeah, OK, I feel privileged that you want me in your film’. You’ve got to rein that in and say ‘No, it’s not going to test me, it’s not going to challenge me, it’s nothing new.”

As much as everyone would like to forget about it, a Buffy the Vampire Slayer film is still expected on the big screen again.

Yes, I speak of the one Joss Whedon has opted to stay non-involved with. It would appear as if the writer-director (and creator of the much better television version of the same name) isn’t the only one not feeling the Fran Rubel Kuzui and Kaz Kuzui reboot—Alyson Hannigan, who played Buffy’s best friend Willow on the show, is also voicing her rather negative opinion of the project.

Milo Ventimiglia Thought of Own Death During Filming

Milo Ventimiglia spent the whole of Armored thinking about his own death.

The actor couldn’t stop thinking about his own mortality when his on-screen alter-ego Officer Eckhart faced several life or death situations on the big screen.

“The majority of the film I’m in the back of an armored car lying, dying, wailing, crying, thinking about my own morality. He’s a mess, but this is the worst where I’m at. Dirty, bloody and half-way dead. My character Officer Eckhart responds to a siren. When getting to the location, he thinks he hears the siren and the siren goes off. He gets himself shot when he does his job and pulls his weapon. He gets a shotgun blast to the gut.”

Despite the gory storyline, the 32-year-old actor admits there were many things which drew him to the movie. He explained, “First of all, the actors. To be able to work with Matt Dillon, Laurence Fishburne, Jean Reno, Skeet Ulrich, Amaury Nolasco and Columbus Short, that was an initial draw of course. Then the story to tell. This kind of hopeful youth going against the desperation of guys that are kind of at the end of their rope. There’s a story to tell there. I think ultimately I’m never going to jump into anything that I don’t think there is a story to tell or a character arc to understand, so for me it was just being a part of that.”
