2 new WWE 2K15 next-gen Randy Orton screenshots released

Randy Orton WWE 2K15 screenshot

We recently gave you a look at John Cena in WWE 2K15, and now 2K Games has released two shots of Randy Orton from the upcoming next-gen version of the wrestling game series. The first image features Orton staring down John Cena from across the ring, while the second sees Orton performing his signature pose (likely an in-game taunt.) As with the original Cena screenshot, it's obvious that a lot of work went into improving the character models for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 console editions.

As a reminder, if you pre-order WWE 2K15 now, you get two playable Sting characters for free on launch day. 2K also announced the exclusive WWE 2K15 Hulkamania Edition, which includes a bunch of Hulk Hogan-themed extras and playable characters.

We've got one more screenshot, featuring Orton doing his signature pose, after the jump.

New WWE World Heavyweight Championship Belt

We're given you a look at the upcoming WWE 2K15 video game, as well as a look at the limited edition WWE 2K15 Hulkamania Edition. Now, here's your first look at the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship belt. The company will be updating its logo to that of the one it uses for the WWE Network after SummerSlam in about two weeks, and updated the World Heavyweight Championship with the new logo. Belt collectors are already looking into getting their hands on replicas, and the WWE has discounted the replicas of the current World Championship belts.

WWE 2K15 Hulkamania Edition features exclusive Hulk Hogan characters, slice of ring canvas

WWE 2K15 Hulkamania Edition

Yesterday we gave you a look at the first WWE 2K15 screenshot as posted by John Cena on Twitter, and today we have news on the WWE 2K15 Hulkamania Edition. This one will be exclusive to next-gen consoles (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One,) and will feature a bunch of extra limited edition content when it goes on sale on October 28th here in North America. Aside from a copy of the WWE 2K15 game, the package also includes:

  • Exclusive premium packaging
  • Collectible art card autographed by Hulk Hogan
  • A Funko Hollywood Hulk Hogan vinyle figure
  • A piece of authentic canvas taken from the ring where Hulk Hogan returned to Monday Night Raw on March 10, 2014
  • Two pre-order launch exlusive Hulk Hogan characters (Hulkamania & Hollywood)
  • Two pre-order launch exclusive playable Sting characters (Surfer & Crow)

2K Games will only be making 25,000 of these, so if you definitely want to get in on the $99 Hulkamania Edition, you should probably go ahead and pre-order it now.

First next-gen screenshot of WWE 2K15 revealed

John Cena WWE 2K15 screenshot

2K Games has released the first in-game screenshot of WWE 2K15. Initially tweeted by John Cena, the image shows WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Cena, staring down Randy Orton in the ring. As you can see, the visuals (at least here,) have been vastly improved. Not only are the character models sporting a more realistic look, but the focus blur is on-point as well. WWE 2K15 will be the first WWE title available for both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and will also be available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 when it's released on October 28 in North America (and October 31 internationally.) If you pre-order WWE 2K15 now, you get two playable Sting characters for free on launch day.

Update: 2K just announced the exclusive WWE 2k15 Hulkamania Edition!

Pre-order WWE 2K15 and get twice the Sting

WWE 2K15 Sting

Update: 2K Games has revealed the limited exclusive WWE 2K15 Hulkamania edition!

During the last episode of Monday Night Raw, it was revealed that the pre-order bonus for WWE 2K15 will be a double-dose of Sting. Wrestling fans in the 1980s and 1990s will remember Sting as both a blonde, spiky-haired grappler with colorful face paint, and later, the mysterious black-and-white character reminiscent of "The Crow."

When WWE 2K15 launches in North America on October 28th (and October 31st internationally,) those who pre-ordered will get both incarnations of the Sting character right off the bat, similar to what happened last year with The Ultimate Warrior in WWE 2K14. This will be the first WWE title available for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. You can order WWE 2K15 now.

WWE Network now available on Xbox One

WWE Network on Xbox One

The WWE Network app is now available for download on the Xbox One console, completing its availability on all announced video game platforms. Prior to today, the WWE Network was available on the Playstation 3, Playstation 4, and Xbox 360, with the Xbox One launch scheduled to come later "this summer." Obviously, the app was completed here in early spring, and made its way to the Xbox Live Marketplace without so much as an announcement from WWE or Microsoft.

We played with the app for a few minutes, and found it to be much easier to navigate than the other game console offerings. In fact, we'd place the Xbox One version just behind that of the Apple TV when it comes to connected devices. Having already used the WWE Network on the Xbox 360, after downloading it to the Xbox One, I was able to navigate around and watch content without having to log in again, thanks to my credentials syncing over Microsoft's cloud.

Streaming quality looks great, with no initial lag or stutter. You can download the WWE Network app now.

WWE Network stress testing this week leading in to WrestleMania 30

WrestleMania 30 wwe network

The WWE Network, announced at CES 2014, went live on February 24th--and it crashed hard. The company has had about 5 weeks to fix all the issues (and not all have been fixed as of press time,) and stress test the MLBAM servers in anticipation of what many believe to be the "make or break" event for the unique live streaming service that's paired with a vast on-demand content vault.

On April 6th, WWE presents WrestleMania XXX, which will be the very first live pay-per-view event that is broadcast on the WWE Network. It just so happens to also be the biggest event of the year for pro wrestling, as WrestleMania is seen as the Super Bowl of wrestling. The company has been broadcasting live programming several times per week in order to get a handle on load, but WrestleMania is a beast all its own. To prepare, the WWE Network will be doing daily live shows this week, along with a two-hour pre-show before WrestleMania begins. We've got the full schedule of special events that'll air on the WWE Network this week, below.

Fandango Wants to Compete on ‘DWTS’

Fandango

WWE Superstar Fandango wants to be a contestant on Dancing with the Stars.

The 32-year-old wrestler is a fan of the program and if the opportunity arose to compete on the ballroom show he'd jump at the chance. Fandango - who uses ballroom dance moves in the ring and is always accompanied by his "dancing partner" Summer Rae - first got into the series when fellow WWE Superstar Chris Jericho competed on it in 2011. When asked if he'd like to compete on the series, Fandango told BANG Showbiz, "I would like to give it a go, I just need the right partner - maybe a lingerie model! I've watched Dancing with the Stars, I watched when Chris Jericho was on it, I think it's cool. It's always cool to see the stars - whether they're a football player or an actor, an actress, a model, whatever - put into that situation of crunch training to try and win the show. How they deal with the pressures and their egos of not being really good at it is interesting to see."
