Asus Wireless VH Monitor

Asus debuted a series of LCD monitors at the recent CeBit 2009. The VH192C and VH196 are energy-saving and have an advanced optical film for better images. The Aspect Control switches between full screen and 4:3 aspect ratio. The Asus VH192C LCD monitor also features a Color Shine panel for better clarity, image color, density and saturation, and best of all can be connected via WHCI or wireless USB host wireless adapter.

X1000 Sony’s answer to Apple’s touch may turn out to be competition. The X1000 features a 3-inch (432x240 pixels) OLED touchscreen display, 32GB storage, an FM tuner, MP3, AAC, WMA, WAV audio/AVC, H.264, MPEG4, WMV video capability and 802.11g/b WiFi. It also has integrated noise cancellation, a NetFront browser, 33 hours of music or 9 hours of video playback. No price or availability date as yet and we hope it comes in more than the finish shown.

Memoir Samsung Memoir has arrived at T-Mobile. The touchscreen cell phone is great for those who do a lot of picture taking with its 8 megapixel camera with Xenon flash, a 16x digital zoom, CMOS auto-focus and a full camera menu with features like geo-tagging and face detection. The 4.2 x 2.1 x 0.6-inch phone weighs only 4.4 oz. and has a talk time of 5.5 hrs. and 12.5 days of standby. The Memoir is Bluetooth compatible and comes with a 1GB SD card, battery and charger, a USB cable and headset. At a retail price of $499.99, after a $200.00 instant and $50.00 mail-in rebate, the cellie will cost you $249.99.

You want a cell phone but maybe you can’t get out of the standard phone groove. Chinavasion has a desktop wireless GSM phone. It can do everything that your standard mobile can and in addition has a large numeric keypad and accepts a standard SIM card. The dual band mobile phone can run off a wall plug or built-in battery that will last for about 2 1/2 hrs. talk time and about 48 hours standby. The CVFK-M13 phone has a very cool feature of dialing without lifting the handset and a price of $77.61.

Powermats Charge Wirelessly

Powermat combines a super-thin mat and receiver to wirelessly charge 3 to 6 electronic devices, all at the same rate as their own chargers. Using magnetic induction, there are a dozen different receivers that will work with phones, PDAs, headsets, MP3 players, handheld games, GPS units, laptops, batteries, cameras, and more. For example, the one for home use comes with a storage tray and can handle up to 4 devices and has a USB port to charge a fifth. A fall debut is expected, so sign up on their site if you would like to be notified when the Powermats become available.

DigiFi Kleer Opera PMP Watch

Now you can wear your tunes on your wrist with DigiFi’s Opera PMP watch. It features both MP3 and MP4 compatibility, a color display, a pedometer and, of course, a watch. It also has a Kleer wireless transmitter to send CD-quality sound to any Kleer-based headphones or receiver. The timepiece is scheduled to come out in the next few months at a price of about $200.00 and we certainly hope it comes in more colors than pukey pink.

Priced at under $200.00, connect to your home wireless 802.11 network and have access to over 11,000 Internet stations. You can also listen to MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV and Real files stored on a WiFi PC. The radio comes with an aux-audio cable to use with your iPod, MP3 player or any other audio device with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

ASUS Eee Keyboard/Browser

Imagine a keyboard PC with a 5-inch touchscreen built in. That’s exactly what Asus did with their Eee, unveiled at the recent CES. The screen can be used for browsing while the keyboard itself can be used to stream audio and video when attached to a TV or other screen with built-in wireless HDMI. At a weight of under 1KG, it also features a 1.6GHz Intel Atom microprocessor, 1GB DDR2 DRam, Windows XP Home and either 16 or 32 GB storage. Look for the Asus Eee around September of this year.

iVoice Diamond-X Dual Mic Bluetooth Headset

Diamond-X Headset iVoice’s has unveiled the Diamond-X Dual Mic Bluetooth Headset that they claim is the first to report the caller’s name from the owner’s address book. It also has auto-volume control, 200 hours of standby and 5.5 hours of talk time, and two microphones. It comes with a mini-USB power adapter, and car and wall charger. The headset also has 3 sizes of rubber ear gels for better fit and should be out this month at a price of about $100.00.

LG LH-85 Series Wireless HDTVs

LG LH-85 HDTV LG is displaying an LH-85 series of wireless LCD TVs at the CES 2009. The HDTVs include the 47-inch 47LH85 and the 55-inch 55LH85 with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 60gHz radio and multi-element antenna array. It also features its 10 point IRE system, color management, and a new picture wizard for calibrating the TVs. The new series should be available in May.
