BlackBerry Q10 keeps hardware QWERTY alive

While the BlackBerry Z10 was definitely the star of the show, the company also unveiled the BlackBerry Q10, featuring a hardware QWERTY keyboard and 3.1-inch display. With this device, BlackBerry (formerly known as RIM) makes it clear that it isn't ditching the hardware keyboard, making a device to cater to those who prefer it. The display is a 720 x 720 AMOLED screen, and it's all powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and 2 GB RAM. Like the Z10, LTE is on board here as well, supporting AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon Wireless. One thing that BlackBerry left out here is the price of the Q10, but that should be coming soon enough. It should arrive in the US in April.

Epic 4G review

The Samsung Epic 4G is the second phone from Sprint to take advantage of their speedier 4G service, the original being the EVO 4G. The Epic 4G is part of Samsung’s Galaxy S line of Android smartphones, although visually it’s a departure from others like the Samsung Captivate, Fascinate, and Vibrant from other carriers. You do still get the TouchWiz 3.0 interface, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, and the 4-inch Super AMOLED display. So what’s different, aside from the phone being able to access Sprint’s 4G network? TiVo Slide Bluetooth QWERTY remote control unboxing gallery

It’s always been kind of a chose to “type” in the TiVo, but with the release of the TiVo Premiere and its discovery and search features—alongside its ridiculously slow interface—typing is downright awful. The TiVo Slide remote aims to change all that, giving you pretty much the same TiVo remote you’ve grown used to over the years (just more compact) with an integrated QWERTY slider keyboard. It all works over Bluetooth, and in the end, should make that hunt-and-peck typing a thing of the past. We will be bringing you a TiVo Slide review shortly, but in the meantime, enjoy these unboxing shots!

Unboxing Live 061: Motorola Devour

After all the Motorola and HTC Droid phones, Verizon launched the Motorola Devour, and Android messaging phone. We picked up a Devour to give you a look at the device, which certainly isn’t aimed at the high-end smartphone crowd. However, since the Sidekick has pretty much fell off the face of the earth, we thought the Devour would be attractive to that younger crowd that’s into text messaging but doesn’t need an overly expensive data plan. Pantech Reveal and Impact handsets from AT&T

AT&T has recently unveiled their newest texting handsets, the Pantech Reveal and Pantech Impact. Each of them have an AT&T mobile browser that has three windows. One will assign bookmarks and shortcuts, another for localized result for news, and a third for the latest news headlines.
As for the Pantech Reveal (pictured right,) it’s a fat, candy bar phone, but slides out for a full QWERTY keyboard. Also included is a GPS with AT&T Navigator, and a music player. It will be available in red and blue on October 18.
The Pantech Impact has an OLED touchscreen on the outside with touch-sensitive number keys. Then it opens up with a secondary display with QWERTY keyboard. This one will be available in pink and blue.

Verizon Razzle: the twisting phone

Verizon has announced the Razzle, a mobile phone with an intriguing control interface. The Razzle has a lower half that twists. On one side, you’ve got a QWERTY keyboard, and on the other, stereo speakers with music controls. As for the other features, it has a 2.2-inch display, 1.3 megapixel camera, GPS, and microSD expansion card. You can order it now from Verizon’s web store.

LG to introduce first Google Android handset with GW620

LG has announced that their GW620 phone will be their first smartphone powered by Google Android. As you can see the picture, the GW620 is a smartphone with a slide-out keyboard as well as a 3-inch touchscreen keyboard. The LG GW620 will also have a social networking flair, which obviously means that sites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, and the like, will all be fully represented. By the way, LG is planning on unveiling three new Windows Mobile smartphones in the next few weeks.
