T-Mobile launches ‘No More Mr. Nice Girl’ brand campaign (video!)

T-Mobile No More Mr Nice Girl

This morning, T-Mobile released the full version of its new "No More Mr. Nice Girl" campaign, which sees its spokesmodel, Carly, ditching the magenta dresses the normally wears in exchange for a magenta and black leather jumpsuit. She then hops on a Ducati and drives off, which we guess signifies that the company is no longer playing games and is getting serious about competing. We don't really know. I mean, if that were true, then they'd stop referring to HSPA+ as 4G, but, that seems to be the cornerstone of the new campaign. Ah well. At least Carly looks cool. Peep the commercial spot for yourself after the jump.

AT&T Go Phone Sweet Commercial

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Cell Phones, Videos

The official shopping season has begun, and we will be inundated with commercials over the next few weeks. We are already impressed with those from Apple and the BlackBerry Storm, and we are very pleased to see the repeat of one of our favorites. It features the voices of Steve Buscemi and Norm MacDonald touting the wonderfulness of the Go Phone. AT&T’s prepaid deal is a good one if your budget can’t handle a monthly bill and they offer up to a $20 bonus for every $100.00 you spend.

Xcor Lynx to Take Commoners to Space

XcorLook what may be in space by the year 2010. The Xcor Lynx is a two-seater that can handle suborbital flying and takes off on a regular runway. It has so far been tested up to about 37 miles over the planet. Intended as a glider on the return flight, it can also come back by engine. About the same size of a small private plane, Xcor Aerospace said that they may be funded by the Air Force Research Laboratory for R&D. Not the first to do this, SpaceShipTwo, in development by Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic, may begin test flights later this year on its commercial product.

Kewpies Not So Cute Anymore

For those who never got over the eerieness of kewpie dolls, we have found PQ Creepy Doll phone straps. There is a whole collection, including the Buff Q, the Melting Q, Grandpa, Skinny, Gross, Fat, and Nyoru. Did we forget to mention that they come in a food, samurai, and bondage series, too? The straps are priced anywhere from 609JPY ($5.69.) to 658 JPY ($6.14.) The only thing creepier than these Qs is their accompanying commercial.

MADtv Spoofs New iPod Ad

With all the problems going on with the writer’s strike, we are grateful that Madtv has just debuted its 13th season. We have always appreciated their humor when dealing with Apple and this parody about the iPod is no exception. Based on the new nano commercial with Feist’s “One, Two, Three, Four” as a soundtrack, our kudos to the comedy troupe that keeps getting funnier every year. Check out their video, “They Keep Changing the iPod.”

Wii Would Like To Play: Super Paper Mario

Nintendo’s Super Paper Mario ships today, and so far the game is tacking up a 90% overall rating on Gamerankings.com. From some of the major game sites, 1up rated the release an 8.0, citing the title’s relative lack of depth compared to its Paper Mario siblings, tacked-on Wiimote controls, and some slowdown evidenced in gameplay. IGN rated slightly higher at 8.9, feeling that the platformer and RPG merger was more successful and that the Wiimote controls felt appropriate for the game, but they felt the amount of writing in the game disrupted the flow, and the 3D elements seemed barren compared to the lushness of the 2D world. Nintendo has also kicked off marketing the game with a “Wii Would Like To Play” TV commercial, shown above.
