Canadian Sells Son’s Guitar Hero in Protest of the Evil Weed

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Internet, Music, Videos,

Guitar Hero IIIPoor Isaac. His dad caught him smoking pot in his backyard with a couple of buds and decided to punish him by selling his Guitar Hero III on eBay. The Canadian father went into detail about the circumstances surrounding the acquisition of the Wii game in the first place and offered to be talked out of it, but apparently the thought of the $9,100.01 bid was too much of a temptation and turned him into a Scrooge. We are not quite sure which one was the naughtier of the two.

Who Needs Blue Suede Shoes When You Can Own the King’s Caddy?

Elvis Caddy

Elvis’ Estate has decided to sell a piece of the King that he personally customized. His 1965 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible is up for auction by Daniel Schmitt & Company through December 15 on eBay at a starting bid of $119,900.00. Co-created by Kustom King George Barris, the vehicle features 40 coats of gold paint, a gold-upholstered interior with guitar-shaped sun visors, and gold records mounted into the tonneau cover.

There is even low-rate financing available with payments of $1,220.00 with a down payment of $24,000.00. Unfortunately, the Caddy wasn’t finished until after Elvis’ death, but we are sure he have would said, “Thank ya vera much.” We think it is worth the price just for the tacky puffy dice on the rear view mirror.

Futuro House Available for Non-Aliens

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Corporate News, Design, Smart Home,

FuturoNow is your chance to live in your own flying saucer. The Futuro House was designed in 1968/69 with a height of 500 cm, a diameter of 800 cm and a weight of 2200 kg. Made of glass fibre, it was meant to be mass produced inexpensively by the year 2000. It features 20 windows and a door with a flap that becomes a staircase and can be moved by helicopter. Made by Finnish metal worker Abloy Suomi, it was on sale at Christies in Paris November 27 but failed to bring in the expected quarter of a million dollars. We suspect that if you could come up with a figure close to that, they might be willing to let it go.

Yahoo Japan Melds With eBay

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Corporate News, Internet,

YaBay logoYahoo Japan has teamed with eBay to create a joint auction. The service allows the two countries to bid on both sites. Designed for simplified transactions between the two countries, this means that not only will the Japanese be able to bid on the Terminator Endoskeleton, but Americans will also be able to get a hold of some of those items that are only available in that country. The service should be up and running by the end of March 2008 and, depending on its outcome, may be offered in other countries.

J.K. Rowling Writes Harry Potter Spinoff

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Family, Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip,

J.K. RowlingDespite several press conferences and comments that she would like to branch out into writing new things, has completed the first spinoff. So much for the integrity of writing.

The book – an illustrated collection of fairy stories – is The Tales of Beedle the Bard, and only seven copies will be printed. One will be auctioned for charity, the others given away as gifts. Rowling drew the illustrations in the book herself and provided the handwriting for five of its stories. The book is mentioned in Rowling’s last Harry novel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

That Is What Elmo Gets

Posted by Monica Edwards Categories: Alijah, Family, Humor, Personal,

AlijahSo, following the mass hysteria of crazed parents dying to lay their grubby hands on the new Tickle Me Elmo TMX, we shelled out our grocery money for the week, a whole $200 for the rights to spoil our child the way we see fit. Okay, we gave up our food for the week for a good cause, we bid on Elmo at a silent auction at our older son's school to raise money for the kids, so we can live with having to starve our children for seven days. What I am hesitant to mention though is that my brilliant husband in his greediness to win said auction actually guarded the piece of paper with his last winning bid, as if his life depended on it. He actually created a sort of hood around the piece of paper with his ginormous shoulders so that no one dare ask him to move out of the way. What he did next he will never live down; the announcer counts down 2 minutes left till the silent auction is over, so hurry and get your bids in. A woman approaches, another psycho parent with that hungry look in her eyes, wanting to take a peek at the last bid on Elmo, but Andru pretty much shoulder blocks her, like he was in the freakin' NFL. What I did not know was that he was so freaked out by her presence that he pretended to be actively looking over the last bid and when she made another move to see the bid, he takes out his pen, crosses out his last bid, and OUTBIDS HIMSELF.
