Top 10 Gear Live stories of 2013
We've come to the end of another year, and as we wave goodbye to 2013, we figured it was only fitting that we share the most popular stories published on Gear Live this year, as determined by our readers (we've also got the top ten most read stories regardless of publish date, as well as the ten most popular Gear Live videos of 2013!) These are the ten stories that were read the most, and when you consider that fact, it's pretty surprising to see what made the list. Let's kick it off with our most read story of the year:
OS X 10.9 Mavericks Developer Preview 3 now available:
Anticipation for Apple's newest desktop operating system, OS X 10.9 Mavericks, trumped all other news here on Gear Live in 2013!
When Apple released the initial beta of iOS 7, it was only compatible with the iPhone and iPod touch. Beta 2 brought the iPad into the fold, and apparently many of you were excited about that, making it our second most popular story of the year.
We can certainly understand the excitement behind TiVo out-of-home streaming--it's something we ourselves have been waiting for, for years. When the story broke a couple of months ago, it shot up in popularity, making it the third most popular article of the year.
We were given a bunch of info about the new Nike+ FuelBand refresh when we were on a trip to LA, and published what we learned for our readers. A few months later, Nike confirmed our information when it released the newer FuelBand.
Bringing the 64-bit processing power of the A7, and a super-simple fingerprint authentication system in Touch ID, the release of the iPhone 5s was a big deal.
New console releases are few and far between, so when Microsoft detailed its plans for the Xbox One, you guys sat up and took notice.
It was a long time coming, but Apple finally updated its iWork suite of apps, the most popular of which is apparently Pages.
Ninja Turtles and Megan Fox as April O'Neil? Yes please.
Netflix ressurected the cult hit, Arrested Development, bringing us a brand new season for subscribers of its streaming service.
