Uma Thurman Needs a Job

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrity Gossip,

Uma Thurman at this year's Golden Globe AwardsCalling all casting directors (and Quentin Tarantino): Uma Thurman is looking to be cast in your next project. Or at least, that's what the Oscar-nominated actress reiterated several times while she was likely a little inebriated at the Golden Globes after party on Sunday night.

According to The New York TImes, the 43-year-old was happy to respond to reporters' questions, but she did so with the same answer:

"Ms. Thurman grudgingly vamped for the cameras, then barked over her shoulder before dashing away, 'You’re a reporter — I need a job.' What was she wearing? 'I need a job.' Where was she headed? 'I need a job.'"

Clearly her stint on Smash in 2012 and her upcoming Lars Von Trier project, Nymphomaniac, aren't paying her bills these days.

Joel Kinnaman as RoboCop+ Photos of Nicole Kidman getting into character as Grace Kelly have been released. Kidman will portray the Hollywood starlet-turned-royalty in the biopic Grace of Monaco, set in 1962. Not surprisingly, she looks as effortlessly chic and classy as the late Oscar winner.

+ The Killing star Joel Kinnaman was snapped up in Toronto while filming scenes for the upcoming remake of RoboCop, which sees him starring as the eponymous character.

+ The intriguing dynamic between Alfred Hitchcock and his wife Alma is on display in the new trailer for Sacha Gervasi's Hitchcock. One can easily see from the clips that both Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren are clear Oscar contenders with their potrayals of the married couple.

+ Uma Thurman is the latest actress cast in Lars von Trier's controversial Nymphomaniac. There is no word yet as to who she will play in the film, which marks her first collaboration with the Danish auteur.

Quentin Tarantino Renames Kill Bill

Quentin TarantinoQuentin Tarantino‘s next Kill Bill movie will have a different name.

The cult director has revealed he will have to re-title the third in the martial arts action franchise because the title character Bill - who was portrayed by the late actor David Carradine - was killed off at the end of the second movie.

“It wouldn’t be Kill Bill. It would be Volume Three of the story of the Bride.”

The Bride, also known as Beatrice, is the female lead portrayed by Uma Thurman. The 46-year-old filmmaker was also quick to deny the third installation of the bloodied action film will be his next project:

“There’s no script; there are just ideas and notes. I won’t do that next, but it could very well be the thing I do after next. We’re getting there. We’re about one movie away. There’s a lot of idle talk going on out there. At the same time, though, it’s what I’ve been saying from the beginning. That cracks me up, because somebody asked me about it in one of my overseas trips and I said it.”
