Jason Segel: The Forgetting Sarah Marshall actor will be working alongside Cameron Diaz in Bad Teacher, a film from Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, two writers on The Office. In the comedy, Diaz will compete against a fellow middle-school employee for another co-worker. Walk Hard‘s Jake Kasdan will direct.

The film, already featuring Soderbergh fave Matt Damon and Jude Law, will have multiple storylines centered around the threat of a deadly disease. Shooting should begin sometime this year.

Kat Dennings: The Nick and Norah actress is one of the latest additions to Thor, Kenneth Branagh’s feature about the mythological god of thunder. It’s believed Dennings will work alongside Natalie Portman as Jane Foster’s assistant. Meanwhile, Stuart Townsend (Fandral), Ray Stevenson (Volstagg the Valiant) and Tadanobu Asano (Hogun the Grim) have been tapped to fight with the title character (Chris Hemsworth). Filming will begin early next year.

Jake Gyllenhaal: The Jarhead star may be prepping to play another military man in Source Code, a sci-fi thriller. The movie, which will be directed by Duncan Jones (Moon), centers on a soldier who wakes up as a commuter on a train. The passenger is forced to relive the experience again and again until the mystery behind a bombing is determined. Shooting should start in early 2010.

Hopkins has been cast as Odin, father of the title character (Chris Hemsworth) who is sent down to Earth after reigniting an ancient war. The film - which also includes Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston - will open May 20, 2011.

Kristen Bell has just been added to the cast of Burlesque, a film that will see Christina Aguilera playing a small-town girl working at a cabaret-esque club in Los Angeles. The film, which stars Cher as the establishment’s owner, will feature Bell as the soon-to-be former lead dancer. Dancing with the Stars’ Julianne Hough will also do what she does best.
