The Knowledgable Consumer Strikes Back

I know we have all experienced it: You walk into a store to pick up the latest gadget, game, or other gear. You did your research, and because you read sites like Gear Live, you are in the know. As you approach the sales associate, you already know what it going to happen; but you walk up to them anyway and ask your questions about the product, the sale, the release date, etc. All you get is a blank stare, or an answer that you know is incorrect.

Now is your chance to get it off your chest, and let us know about it! We want to hear your tales of inept retail associates who led you astray, or just had no clue what they were talking about! Send us your best at submit@gearlive.com. We will post some of the greatest in a couple of weeks.

Hehe i couldnt be bothered opening up hotmail and logging in so ill just post my story here, I went to an EB (Electronics Boutique) store near my house a few months back, I was buying a game and enquired about if they had gotten any update on when Half Life 2 release dates... (it was a few weeks after it had been delayed because of somebody stealing code), the sales person claimed that it was already out and had been on the shelves for a few days, so i repeated that it was Half-Life 2... but got the same response, now I knew it was not gonna be out for probably another year or so, so i decided to play along and let him show me the game.. we walekd up to the PC games area and he searched the shelves, to no avail... then turned and said, "we must have sold out already"
