The 2007/2008 MLB off-season has not gone the way Josh Fogg has expected. And he’ll be the first to tell you.

“The off-season didn’t go like a lot of free agents planned,” Fogg said.

After pitching for 3.6 million dollars in Colorado last season, Fogg signed a 1 year 1 million dollar contract with the Cincinnati Reds. Last season for the Rockies Fogg went 10-9, with an ERA of nearly 5, totaling 94 K’s in 165 innings pitched.

Fogg, also known as the “Dragon Slayer,” for his prowess against some of the game’s great pitchers, went 2-1 in the post-season last year for the Rockies. Going into the off-season, Fogg had confidence that he’d receive a contract rewarding him for his 2007 success. At one point, the Rockies Fogg a contract worth 5 million dollars, which Josh refused. However, in an off-season with many free agents being left to dry in the free agent market, Fogg had no luck receiving a contract until Spring Training began. Now he’ll have to compete for a spot in a weak Cincinnati rotation, with no chance to make the post-season. Fogg will have no choice but to make the best of his situation.

“This was a place I wanted to end up,” Fogg said. “I think the opportunity to come in as a veteran guy and add a little stability to the pitching staff was one of the reasons I signed here.”
