Jenny McCarthy Defends Jim Carrey’s Parenting

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Rivalries,

Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey with her sonJenny McCarthy has defended Jim Carrey's parenting skills.

The model and activist came to the defence of her former partner after Shia LaBeouf accused him of abandoning his daughter, Jane, from his first marriage to Melissa Womer. After Jim had made a small joke at Shia's expense during the Golden Globes on Sunday, he had responded on Twitter, "At least I don't get arrested for indecency on major LA highways! Or abandon love child's [sic]."

Shia soon backtracked, saying, "Jim Carrey states that he is deeply involved in his daughter's life - I accept that. Regret tweet on the matter. Apologies to both parents."

However, Jenny felt the Transformers star had taken things a step too far. "You can attack myself, but don't bring my children into it. And I'm sure it's the same for Jim. Jim and I have become friends now since our breakup [in 2010]. We dated for five years and I got to know his daughter, Jane, who is a lovely, lovely girl. It's completely uncalled for and wrong. Jim is a great father. He loves Jane more than anything in the world. Shia did apologize and Jim did take it, but the whole thing is, do not bring our children into it," she said on The View.

Lorde Won’t Name Her Fans

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Artist News, Pop,

LordeLorde refuses to give her fanbase a name.

The "Royal" singer isn't a fan of the trend for celebrities to give their devoted followers a name - like Lady Gaga and her Little Monsters or Katy Perry and her KatyCats - and thinks it's embarrassing and "awkward."

When asked whether she had named her fans yet, she ranted, "F**k no! That's the worst! I find it grating to lump everyone into a really awkward, pun-centric name. People joke about it on Twitter, 'You should call us The Disciples.' Never! I have discouraged it. I've tweeted multiple times, 'No fan name, I do no condone this.'"

The 17-year-old star isn't opposed to being branded a "pop star," however, and would never criticize any style of music. "I wouldn't take offense! People think pop's filthy and shameful. I love pop music! I don't think it's right to s**t on a genre just because some stuff about it isn't perfect. Pop is really powerful and if I'm a pop star then I'll be that to the best of my ability," she insisted.

Shia LaBeouf Retiring?

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Meltdowns,

Shia LaBeoufShia LaBeouf has announced he is retiring from the public eye.

The 27-year-old actor is taking a step back from the limelight just weeks after he was forced to apologize for plagiarizing author Daniel Clowes' graphic novellas, Justin M. Damiano, for his short film HowardCantour.com.

"In light of the recent attacks against my artistic integrity, I am retiring from all public life... My love goes out to those who have supported me. #stopcreating," the Nymphomaniac star wrote on Twitter this morning.

Shia failed to clarify whether he plans to stop acting completely or simply stop doing interviews and being active on his social media platforms.

The Transformers star came under fire, including from Girls star and creator Lena Dunham, after he employed a team to write a five mile wide message in the sky above Los Angeles on New Year's Day reading, "I AM SORRY DANIEL CLOWES," in an attempt to make peace for plagiarising the comic book writer's work.

Sylvester Stallone: Twitter Gets Me in Trouble

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Rants, Features,

Sylvester StalloneSylvester Stallone avoids social media because it gets him into "trouble."

The legendary actor found himself in hot water last year for criticizing fellow Hollywood star Bruce Willis on Twitter - after Bruce dropped out of his movie The Expendables 3 over a pay dispute - and he now chooses to be very "careful" about using social networking websites.

"Every time I use social media I get really in trouble! I think George Clooney said it best when he said you've got to be an idiot to be celebrity and use Twitter. You wake up in the morning when you're sober and your career is over! You've got to be really, really careful. You think you're a genius up there in the middle of the night and you wake up an idiot," he explained.

The 67-year-old star admits he isn't technologically savvy and doesn't quite understand the purpose of photo sharing mobile app, Instagram. "Everyone keeps wanting me to get on Instagram. Is that for younger people, Instagram? For, like, pervs? 'Here we are at the hospital getting our back checked' or 'I'm on dialysis... here we are!' I'm really basic with the iPhone. I think I've figured out how the camera works and that's about it. I keep it very simple," he quipped.

Shia LaBeouf Plagiarizes Daniel Clowes… Again

Shia LaBeouf's supposed storyboard for an upcoming project

Is there an end to Shia LaBeouf's plagiarism madness?

Although the Nymphomaniac star has since plagiarized others' apologies and shelled out for a skywritten apology directed towards Daniel Clowes - the comic book writer/artist whose novel Justin M. Damiano was the very obvious basis of LaBeouf's short HowardCantour.com - he has now prompted Clowes' lawyer to send him a cease and desist letter over a particular Twitter post which was copied from another of Clowes' works. The photo in question (seen above) is a storyboard he has presumably written to which he captioned, "Story board for my next short "Daniel Boring" Its like Fassbinder meets half-baked Nabokov on Gilligan's Island [sic]." The problem is that David Boring is already a graphic novel put out by Clowes (in 2000!), of which he had previously described in the same way Shia did in his caption.

Shia LaBeouf: Drug Addict or Professional Troll?

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Movies, Drugs, Meltdowns, Rumors,

Shia LaBeoufIn either an elaborate, confusing way to get the world to take him more seriously as an artist or perhaps the result of a serious drug problem, Shia LaBeouf's true intentions may soon become clearer.

The Nymphomaniac star's troubles began when he debuted his short film HowardCantour.com online last month, much to the shock of artist Daniel Clowe's fans, who noticed the unequivocal similarities between LaBeouf's project and Clowes' 2007 comic Justin M. Damiano. LaBeouf has since profusely apologized to Clowes on his Twitter account, and even went so far as to write out his apology in the clouds. But is he being sincere?

Following the tweet with the photo of his skywritten apology, LaBeouf has reblogged tweets proclaiming his performance artistry with one heralding his behavior as "[parodying]  the modern absurdity of our fake apologies for developing the natural progression of art."

Chris Pine

"No, f--- no. What am I going to tweet about? My sneakers? Or, 'I have 140,000 friends on Facebook.' What does that even mean? I find it to be a waste of time. The Internet is so caustic; just a place where people get to spew nonsense and bullsh--."
