Coming 1.18.08It has been a fiery topic among entertainment blogs and movie sites for months, and now the project previously known only by it’s release date - 1.18.08 - has finally got an official name: .

The film’s first trailer debuted prior to this summer’s smash-hit, , and has sparked speculation ever since. The rumors involved everything from the film’s poster and title to its plot and mysterious city-ravaging “monster.” And although many rumor mills figured out the film’s title some time ago, the second 1.18.08 trailer, which debuts this weekend before Paramount’s , makes the sci-fi thriller’s title official.

But with another two minutes of footage to scrutinize, I’m sure the fanboys will find no shortage of more things to ask questions about.

New Spore Videos From Leipzig

Posted by Paul Hamilton Categories: Electronic Arts, PC, Simulation, Trailers,

New trailers showing some of the refinements made to , the upcoming game from Sim City creator , over the last year shows some excellent progress. As ambitious as Wright’s games tend to be, this one seems incredibly rich as you expand from a single-celled organism into a galaxy-spanning spacefarer. The developers ring up an interesting point that most games are about destroying things while this (and other Wright games) are more about building or creating. Of course you can fight with other tribes in Spore, once you get to that point, and take over other planets and the like, but perhaps it’s different to attack if it’s all in the name of progress. A second trailer is also available, showing more gameplay and the creature editing - check that one out by clicking through the jump.

Guild Wars: Eye of the North In-Game Trailer

Guild Wars Eye of the North

Available now over at GuildWars.com is an in-game trailer that gives a peek (a sneak peek to the upcoming Sneak Peek, more on that here) into the upcoming Guild Wars expansion, Eye of the North. Set for release on August 31, the expansion will require you to own one of the previous Guild Wars titles, unlike the other campaigns which were full games in and of themselves.

The trailer, which runs for just under two minutes, is narrated by presumably Gwen (remember the little girl from the Guild Wars Prophecies?) who is now all grown up. Eye of the North doesn’t offer much eye candy – it is using the same Guild Wars engine that’s several years old now – but if you’re a Guild Wars fan, as I am, it’ll get you plenty excited for this segue to Guild Wars 2.

E3 2007: Halo Wars First Gameplay Footage

Depending on what you’re expecting from Halo Wars, you’re either going to be very happy or very disappointed. From all indications, Halo Wars looks like it’s going to be a straight-up RTS with a Halo theme. If you were hoping for something more innovative (that’s not to say the game won’t be innovative, but from this 30 second clip nothing really jumped out), you’re going to be upset with what Ensemble Studios has to show.

E3 2007: New LittleBigPlanet Footage

Posted by Kyle Ulrich Categories: Adventure, E3, PlayStation 3, Sony, Trailers,

Looking better and better every time we see it, LittleBigPlanet continues to exude charm effortlessly. At Sony’s press conference a few days ago a new trailer emerged, this time showing off the depth and ease-of-use of the game’s deep well of customization options. Much can be inferred about how limitless the games options are in the scant few minutes the trailer plays. Watch in awe of the next big thing in gaming.

E3 2007: Killzone 2 Extended Trailer Features More Action

As if the Killzone 2 trailer shown at Sony’s press conference wasn’t awesome enough, GameVideos has this extended version of the trailer. I’ve been a major doubter of Killzone 2, but this trailer really has me amped up for the game’s release. Naysayers, take a look before you do any further bashing of Killzone 2.
