Steven Tyler: Records Are Like Surfing

Steven TylerSteven Tyler thinks releasing an album is like surfing.

The Aerosmith frontman is hoping the group's forthcoming new album Music from Another Dimension will spawn several successful singles and is thrilled with the finished record.

"Your album is like a wave, and you ride that album all the way and see what you got. Hopefully we have three or four singles deep, which means radio play. [Producer] Jack Douglas and I and Joe Perry... We worked this thing for the last year, and we're so happy about it," he said.

Steven believes the record is a good representation of the band as people - which is useful as he often doesn't know who he is: "It's the kind of thing where it represents who you are. Who are you? We don't know. Sometimes our music speaks for us so this album - as Joe said on one of his solo records - 'Let the music do the talking,' and this one does."

The album, Music from Another Dimension, will be released in August, preceded by the single, "Legendary Child."

Adele to Release New Music in 2012

Adele at this year's GrammysAdele plans to release a new single later this year.

The "Someone Like You" hitmaker - whose debut album 19 came out in 2008 followed by 2011 record 21 - will bring out a song at the end of 2012, but she is not expecting a complete a full album for a ''good two years''.

"I'm not going on a break for that long. There was a good two years between my first and second album, so it will be the same this time. There will be a new song probably coming out at the end of the year, and then it depends how quickly I write some new songs - but it won't be for a good two years," she replied when asked if her fans will have to wait until 2014 for new material.

Adele - who won six Grammy Awards and two BRIT Awards earlier this year - would release another album "next week" if she didn't insist on writing all of her own material, but she likes to take her time penning lyrics: "I have to write another record, if I didn't write my own songs I'd be out next week with a new album, but because I write my own songs I have to take time and live a little bit."

Limp Bizkit Teams Up With Lil Wayne

Limp BizkitLimp Bizkit will collaborate with Lil Wayne on their next single.

The "Faith" hitmakers have joined forces with the rapper for "Ready To Go," which will drop next week and marks the group's first release since they signed a record deal with Cash Money Records.

"It'll be a great way to let the world know that [Limp Bizkit] is a part of us. It's rock but it's hip-hop-rock. I think we got that hip-hop-rock swagger," said label founder Brian "Birdman" Williams.

The music executive also hinted the group - who were dropped by Interscope Records in 2001 following poor sales of their sixth album Gold Cobra - are planning to record a new LP: "They're just gonna go in and get it done. We're looking to put an album out this year. [Frontman] Fred [Durst]'s all the way in - he understand what we're about, hard work and dedication. To me, they're one of the hardest workers in the business."

Although Cash Money is a hip-hop label, Birdman believes Limp Bizkit is the "perfect match":

Listen to Lady Gaga’s Sinful New Single

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Gossip, Leaks, Upcoming Releases, Videos, Pop,

Lady Gaga’s “Judas” has unexpectedly leaked onto the Web, and it’s already too hot for some listeners to handle. The lyrics, ostensibly written from the point of view of the Bible’s Mary Magdelene, have some believers enraged.

The Catholic League has already taken offense to the song, but that was even before the single leaked onto the Internet. The content of the song itself -- not to mention the title -- won Gaga a heated response. In a statement, League president Bill Donohue said “this is a stunt,” and “Lady Gaga tries to continue to shock Catholics and Christians in general.”

Take a listen to the video and decide for yourself -- sinfully good, or just plain sinful?

Chris Medina: Too Good for American Idol?

Funny how some things work out. Chris Medina, the American Idol contestant who grabbed so much attention from viewers (and Jennifer Lopez, who broke down when she eliminated him from the show), is a bona fide recording artist.

He doesn’t have to wait around for some reality competition to finish. The day following his televised elimination from the show, Medina debuted a brand-new single on iTunes, “What Are Words,” which you can hear in the video above. The entire song is based on the gut-wrenching, heart-twisting story Medina shared with the Idol judges at his first audition for the show.

Medina’s production company is 19 Recordings. But… wait! Isn’t 19 Recordings the same company that produces all the American Idols? Now, you’re catching on.
