Facebook Profile Merely Advertising

Posted by Sheila Franklin Categories: Cameras, Internet,

WendyThis, and many images like it, were recently posted on Facebook. Readers were told that the lady in question had lost her digital camera and had left it and photos behind as clues as to her identity. Apparently the page attracted thousands of admirers, who posted comments like this one from Martin Farrell, from London, “I thought I saw her today in Chiswick but it was a false alarm, the hunt continues.”

It was finally admitted that it was simply a viral marketing campaign for a porn site and that the lady in question is Wendy, one of its models. It just goes to show that in advertising, sex continues to sell.

OK! Gives Britney Spears Layout the Okay

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Gossip, Rumors,

Britney Spears Though reported to be an “absolute disaster,” the self-arranged photo shoot will appear in an upcoming issue of OK! magazine, according to TMZ sources. OK! was with Brit all day, where it was said Spears suffered from an “erratic” mood and paranoia, taking frequent breaks during the session. Allegedly, Spears also used her couture as a napkin – more than once, and with more than one outfit. OK! would rather run the spread than risk damaging the magazine’s relationship with Spears – or, at least, that’s the official story. The truth is, there are few things that sell as many magazines as celebrity train wrecks, and Britney is definitely one of those these days.

CES 2007 Video: Ontela Sends Photos From Phone To PC

We met with Dan Shapiro from Ontela here at and learned more about their coming mobile photography technology. The average consumer takes more than 150 pictures with their cell phone each year, and does nothing with them - they sit on the phone, unprinted, unsent, and unappreciated. Ontela’s technology automatically transfers photos from your phone to your home computer using your phone’s internet connection.

The Ontela technology is brain dead simple: the trigger for the transfer is as simple as clicking the shutter button. Once you have taken your photo it’s sent to the computer, effectively giving you a computer hard drive sized memory card. You can also choose to have the Ontela service transfer the photos to Flickr, Kodak, or other services for you automatically.

The technology is being sold to carriers and is not available yet, but will be appearing in phones soon - stay tuned for more information on this fantastically simple way to get your photos off your phone, and in to your life.
