We stopped by the Neuros room at CES and spoke with Joe Born about the Neuros OSD. This is the open source, Linux-based media center device that is starting to pick up and is generating a strong community of developers looking to use it to create the best media center device out there. It will be hitting the market soon, and based on what we saw, we think this one will be a viable alternative to some of the more stagnant media receivers out there. Check the video to find out why.

We talk to IOGEAR about their soon-to-be-released GHDMIAS2 HDMI switcher. What’s so special about it? It automatically senses which device is sending a video signal, and therefore automatically switches to that signal so that you don’t have to reach for the remote. It also has a manual override button in case you want to switch to the other input on your own. Lastly, it’s an HDMI 1.3 switcher and supports 1080p, so you know that you will be getting the latest goodness. This one will be available at the end of the first quarter 2007 for $149.99 USD. Good enough for us!

While everyone has been focusing their attention on the iPod shuffle dur to it’s tiny size, iriver has released their S10. It’s not much bigger than the tinniest iPod, and it provides something that the iPod doesn’t - a full color screen that let’s you browse your music and photos on the tiny device. The screen is a 1.15-inch 128x96 OLED, so you can expect about either hours of battery life out of this one. Even better, it has an FM tuner and can even record the FM signal. Do that Apple! Browsing on the S10 is similar to that of the iriver clix, which means, it’s great. Pricing and purchasing info are found in the video, so get clicking.

CES 2007 Video: Planet 82 Accufat Scanner

At the show, we were on the lookout for odd, out of place products, and we think we found one in the Accufat Scanner. The whole demo was just kind of…odd. We mean, aside from the fact that CES is teeming with your standard gadgety fare and we didn’t expect to see a body fat scanner. During the demo, a Planet82 representative shows off their fat scanning device, and calls over another representative who seemed apprehensive to have his fat measurement taken on camera. Now that’s good comedy!

While at the Wow Wee booth, we were able to get our hands on the new jacked up Robosapien, the RS MEDIA. This guys records and plays back video, sings, dances, talks, throws things, and a whole lot more. He even has multiple personalities that can be stored on separate memory units or on a PC. We talk to Wow Wee, and the RS MEDIA itself, in this episode. Watch for the dancing - this guy is a dancing machine. Get it? Heh. Yeah.
