Monday Ratings: Trauma Needs Assistance

NBC needs some help, stat! Yesterday’s series premiere of Trauma did nothing for the Peacock network’s health on Mondays. The medical drama pulled in numbers smaller than last fall’s stinker, My Own Worst Enemy. By night’s end, ABC was on top with the viewers while FOX was 1st in the demos.

Hayden Panettiere and Masi Oka Talk Heroes Season 4

Masi Oka and Hayden Panettiere talk Heroes season 4Heroes favorites Masi Oka and Hayden Panettiere took some time out to talk about the upcoming season, specifically what’s going on with Hiro and Claire’s new college roommate.

Last we saw our favorite Japanese villain-fighter extraordinaire, he wasn’t faring too well with fighting off a sickness he acquired. Oka elaborated on his character’s hardship:

“Hiro let someone into his world. The first time he stopped time while touching someone—in that case, it was Ando—that was first time he froze time with someone else in that freeze-time world. That was started the adverse effect in Hiro’s brain. The power is meant to have a capacity of one. When you start adding Ando, Suresh, and other people into that world, it just a strain that’s put on Hiro’s brain.”

Oka also revealed that the dynamic between Ando and Hiro changes when Ando marries Hiro’s sister and harnesses his powers, “It always changes, but once Ando got his powers, it was more equal footing. It wasn’t more of a Batman and Robin; it became more of a Batman and Superman. There’s something to be said to be said about the familiarity of the characters and what the audience wants and expects, but we want the characters to grow.”

Robert England Talks ‘Nightmare on Elm Street’ Remake, ‘Heroes’

Robert Englund played Freddy Kruger in 6 filmsFrom what started simply from an infantile obsession with Johnny Depp (note: still very much suffering from), I was quickly hooked to Wes Craven’s classic A Nightmare on Elm Street series for as long as I can remember. Considering horror favorites like Halloween, The Hills Have Eyes, Friday the 13th, and more recently, The Last House on the Left have all been brought to the silver screen a second time around, it was only a matter of time before Michael Bay got his hands on the Freddy Kruger films.

The man beneath Freddy’s flame-broiled façade is none other than Robert Englund, whom I last saw on a very interesting poster for Zombie Strippers! (I am so not kidding about that, either). Unfortunately, he will neither be reprising his role nor making a cameo in the upcoming remake. He did, however, speak very highly of Jackie Earle Haley portraying Freddy Kruger and his hopefulness for the reinvention of the horror that made him a household name:

“Well, they’re shooting as we speak in Chicago and it’s a real interesting cast. The actor playing Freddy, Jackie Earle Haley, I was a big fan of his as far back as a movie called, Breaking Away... I think because Jackie’s not real big, you know, I like the idea of his kind of energy and size. I always saw Freddy as kind of like an angry junkyard dog. I think there is something about Jackie’s size that will really lend itself to a kind of impishness and that kind of energy that I hope they let him bring to the role… I hope they don’t completely mirror the original. I think it would be smart of them to maybe change the wardrobe a bit. You know, modify the claw and glove a little perhaps, I think if they’re going to have the fun of remaking it.”

Hayden Panettiere Is an Exhibitionist

Hayden's Letterman outfit

Judging by her barely-there Caroline Seikaly dress, it’s probably not going to come as a shock to you that Heroes star Hayden Panettiere thinks of herself as an exhibitionist.

When asked about her much-anticipated nude scene in the upcoming high school comedy I Love You, Beth Cooper, Hayden divulged:

“I don’t think it takes much thought, and I don’t think it takes much preparation as an actor. My dad has always said I was an exhibitionist when I was growing up. As a young girl, I’d be running around with no clothes and I was like, ‘La, la, la, la.’ So, I didn’t find it very hard being naked. It’s like I drop my towel and that’s it. But that’s just me though. Maybe other people find it harder.”

Hey, at least she’s not like that other actress who irksomely denies her hotness. *Cough Megan Fox cough* Go Hayden! Be proud of your hotness!
